Good for Providence. They were the epitome of a bubble team. Came up huge.

Well, probably knocks Creighton down to a 4 seed.

Mulva now has a bit more of a challenge on his hands in the Player Pick-'Em!

Also, love seeing teams like Providence, who were SQUARE on the bubble, just take charge. they won the big game versus SJ. But they didnt settle, took it out of the committees hands and just won the whole damn thing. THIS is what the conference tourneys are made for.

Wouldnt be surprised if they played their way to a 10 seed.

Gotta say, if Ohio State ends up a 6 Providence is one team I definitely don't want to see on the 11 line.

McDermott's teammates lost this game by not getting him enough touches. As amazing as it might sound, even though pretty much only Pistol Pete has more points than he does in a career, McDermott goes unusually long stretches of his games without getting a touch. He's just such an efficient scorer that it doesn't matter.

The supporting cast did nothing to help him to tonight.

I followed him all year as he was on my fantasy team. It seems as though he gets his 20+ and then the rest of the team just figures he got his.

Not saying the team has animosity or anything like that...but a guy THAT good, should never go 3 possessions in a row without shooting it. I seriously believe he should be getting close to 25 shots a game. He is that talented.

Providence over St. John's 79-74 - St. John's likely out (were 3rd out); Providence plays Seton Hall in the SF's tomorrow (Providence was 5th out)
Arizona over Utah 71-39 - Utah definitely out (were 8th out)
Missouri over Texas A&M 91-83 - Missouri plays Florida in the QF's tomorrow
Kansas over Oklahoma State 77-70 (Oklahoma State possibly to a play-in slot, maybe a 10 or 11)
South Carolina vs Arkansas
Colorado vs California
Wyoming vs UNLV
Penn State vs Minnesota
UTEP vs Southern Miss
Alabama vs LSU
Georgia Tech vs Clemson
Marquette vs Xavier
Stanford vs Arizona State

Tomorrow:

Dayton vs St. Joseph's - St. Joe's is the 4th last in, Dayton is 3rd last in
Florida State vs Virginia - FSU is the 4th out, huge chance for a win vs a top 25 team
Nebraska vs Ohio State - Nebraska is one of the last 6 in
Tennessee vs Arkansas/South Carolina - Tennessee is one of the last 6 in
What do you think bubble-wise at this point? I decided to give being a bracketologist a shot this year, and I have no idea who to include for the last spot. My final 5 in are Xavier, Dayton, Iowa, BYU, and ???

I think the committee rewards BYU for their non-conference schedule, so I'd be shocked to see them out. That's the exact same reason I'm not comfortable including SMU. They played nobody. But then the other options all suck. NC State, Florida State, Minnesota, Missouri, Arkansas, and Cal are all about even, and completely uninspiring. USM, La Tech, and Green Bay have pretty much no good wins. It's a tough, tough call.

Az, I looked at your post. Seems it was too big of a table for the OC to handle. You can probably post it in increments.

This is what I have felt all year long watching Creighton (probably 20 times total). While I am sure on a basic human level it does get tiring for the other guys on the team with all of the focus and praise Doug gets, they need to realize who their bread and butter is. If Doug doesn't get those extra touches down the stretch in the NCAA, Creighton is going down early, probably before the Sweet 16.

If the team plays to its strengths, like it did in the first two games of the Big East Tournament, Creighton could go as far as the Monday night championship game. I really do feel that. The necessary components for such a run are there -- a lottery pick surrounded by a veteran supporting cast of smart intangible guys and a swarm of shooters. A great offense can go as far as its shooting takes it. The major difference between Creighton and Butler in 2010 or 2011, however, aside from pace of play, is that the Bulldogs did not live and die by the three and had a stellar defense that could withstand bad shooting. Creighton will need to rain triples.

I doubt Cuse will fall to a 4.....SDSU feels like that typical meh #3 seed, but I have them as a #5

Iowa St is the last #3 or top #4

Yeah, SDSU will fall out, a 4 or a 5. Cuse still likely a 3...not that they deserve it.

Coach K tried to make a case for NC State getting in the tourney and in the process tried to knock the Atlantic 10: http://www.sportingnews.com/ncaa-basketball/story/2014-03-15/acc-tournament-coach-k-stumps-for-nc-state-dance-invitation?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

No way NC State should get in. Their key out of conference win was against bubble team Tennessee. Their 9-9 record in conference only included 1 win against a team with a winning conference record (Pitt). The ACC has a lot of schools with basketball traditions, but this year there is a significant drop off after the top 5 teams. The top of the ACC is certainly much stronger, but the A10 should get more teams in than the ACC this year.

6 people on here doesn't mean everyone.

I start late and watch everybody a bit before the tourney. Sometimes if you know too much you overthink the brackets.
