Rec if it is any help to you...

I had a nightmare last night that Parker stayed and Hood changed his mind. I woke up and had to get online to check to make sure if was in fact a nightmare.

Doesn't help.

Ha. But Hood is definitely gone. I'm just clinging to hope that Parker isn't mentioned in the presser or that Coach K just forgets about him. Not ready hear both announcements at once.

FYI, a general rule of thumb would be if a kid verbal's to anyone named Duke, NC, or Kansas, they pretty much have a legit shot of playing and contributing...jmo

I guess I meant is he a top notch guy who they realistically expect to be a top line starter. I know when guys sign wtih the big boys they are great players, but even then there is a level on expecations.

Kennard is a very good offensive player who should do well in Duke's system. However, there are still some questions about how he projects to the next level and how he stacks up athletically. The good news is, a 3-4 year player, most likely.

It's starting to help! No mention of Rodney or Jabari in the K presser today. It's only delaying the inevitable, but what a day!

May your premonition prove true.

^So Shabazz Muhammad's dad signed a contract to make $300,000 a year for being the father of his son and took a signing bonus while Bazz was still at UCLA. That's just fantastic.

UCLA might not only have all 25 of its victories from last season vacated, but also receive a post-season ban of some sort. That would really suck for Alford, who is already climbing a mountain with a giant boulder on his back (i.e. overcoming his limitations as a coach while getting UCLA back to the top). This could be devastating to that process.

Ben Howland apparently in discussions with Marquette.

Wake Forest has also shown interest in Jay Wright, per internet rumors. Because it's the ACC, which is on the verge (once Louisville joins) of becoming the most dominant conference in the country, I could see Wright entertaining the idea. But it's probably unrealistic since he seems pretty happy at Villanova, which is a historical power and has its run of Philly now that Temple is no longer a national title contender.

With Coach K, Roy Williams, Rick Pitino, Jim Boeheim, Jay Wright and Tony Bennett would make quite the headline act.

Kyle Anderson and Zach LaVine from UCLA entering the draft.
LaVine's godfather, Marvin Carter, added: “Every year he spends at UCLA after this one is a waste. It really is.”

I had them pegged as a top 3 team next year if everyone returned, but these are big losses.

Anderson was never coming back. His stock won't get any higher.

LaVine could have stood for another year in school.

Despite Lavine being worthless for awhile now, I saw Chad Ford has him 15-20 in the draft.

Kevin Ware transferring from Louisville. Hidden amongst all of the attention and "inspiration" from the devastating injury on national TV, rumors of rampant drug use and off the court issues stirred. Ware "redshirted" after not being healthy from the injury, despite videos of him playing and dunking last July, just 4 months after the surgery. Many believe he was quietly "suspended" and did not show up at games with the team, unlike other redshirts. He's now making an uncelebrated exit from the team...

Honestly, he was the guy who was rumored to be involved with stuff that got Chane Behanan dismissed. I think the PR hit for both Kevin and the school would've been too significant to actually give him the same fate they gave Behanan.

Duke associate head coach Steve Wojciechowski is being targeted by Marquette, per Yahoo! Sports and ESPN. Other candidates for the Golden Eagles' vacant position include Tennessee's Cuonzo Martin and former UCLA coach Ben Howland.

That's a pretty big loss for Calipari. I'd guess he will look at recently fired Auburn coach Tony Barbee, who coached under him at Memphis.

Kinda surprised Cleanthony Early only made third team. He definitely should be up there over Parker who lost to Mercer in the first round.
