This is what I got from it.

Was it actually on lockdown? Meaning no one in, no one out, like NYC after 9/11? Didn't appear that way to me.

I read it with an expectation that they would be searching EVERY home, car, etc...So I assumed if they didn't search her house then she must have refused the search.

I guess they could assume if there was a hostage situation the person would still tip them off, or show so much distress that they would then just go in.

But unless I misunderstood didn't the cops, FBI and who ever else followed this guy into in watertown?

As I understood, it was just a "Stay at home" request. In fact, in the PC they said there was no way for them to lockdown a whole city.

So in crazy Die Hard style, is it possible this guy got down into the sewers or subway and made his getaway before the cops secured it? They shutdown the trains pretty quickly, but not sure how quick they were to secure the access. If he got down there, he could have pretty quickly gotten beyond their perimeter which initially was only about 4-6 blocks.

Watertown doesn't have subways, he'd have to go quite awhile to get to one. Possible, but not probable

I think they followed his car to Watertown where, at some point, he bailed and fled on foot. They lost him between the houses. They quickly established a perimeter, which initially was about 4 blocks in every direction.

I'm thinking they never had him contained, and they were fairly slow to expand that perimeter and so it's conceivable he was able to stay ahead of it.

I think he's gone. He got away in that initial hour or 2 and bolted somehow.

I'm wondering if maybe the FBI is doing this to draw him out? Maybe he is planning another mass-bombing...

Just said on Fox he has ties to Watertown and would be familiar with the area. More likely, he may have a friend or co-conspirator that is hiding him. Which is why I assumed they'd be searching EVERY house.

Are tracking dogs not very effective in an urban environment? They should have a scent to go on and a starting point. He must have gotten to a car.

Could be, but it goes against what most people would do. If he sticks around, he WILL be caught eventually, because now everyone knows who he is. His only chance was to get away, far away.

He may get caught, but he's going to kill more people before he does (my opinion).

He isn't going to hang out just for the hell of it; he's either going to get wayyyyy out of Boston (and the US) or he's going to go out with a bang, literally.

You have to remember too that he not only lost his "leader", he's been up for well over 24 hours, his face is plastered everywhere, and the cops have all of his relative's homes covered- so he really doesn't have a lot of options on what he can do or where he can go. This is gonna' end bad, real bad.

Well he may have military training. If he tries to run he'd be spotted pretty quickly. He's probably laying low, possibly with some sympathizers, and may try to sneak away later.

If he's hiding on his own, I might guess he's lost most of his gear in his getaway, hopefully.
