That's why I suspect he may have ran initially. Less chance of him be spotted then. Who knows though? I guess only he does.

I think they thought they wouldn't be identified, or that it wouldn't have happened so fast. I'd say they were laying low, because running initially would have drawn attention and made it more difficult to leave the country.

Apparently cops swept the boat earlier in the day, but homeowner later noticed shed door open and bloody clothes and she called police to check it out
