I think Gibson might have been referring to the rumors swirling about his departure from Cleveland. Tonight would potentially be his last home game. Just speculating.

This was probably planned by an american group. The fact it was so well coordinated shows that the conspirers had constant and good communication, unlike the cell structure that many international groups use. Also April 14 is the day Lincoln and Seward were attacked, so interesting to see that happen on a similar date 150 years ago

Could have been some deranged student/group of students. There are a lot of them (students, that is, not necessarily deranged) in Boston.
