I never said I was trying to be funny. It was misguided sarcasm -- or an attempt at it, anyway. Fat Hobbit and some of the other people here understand what I was trying to do, but I obviously failed in the eyes of those here, and that's fine. It was poor taste on my part to revert to saracasm in order to make a point about the casualities being more important than the kid from Ohio who "placed" in the race.

I subscribe to levity, and generally try not to take life that serious, but I pushed the limit apparently and should have just shut up. Whether you want to believe me or not, I do not care. I can admit, however, that I was wrong.

Has the thought crossed anyone else's mind that since no one is coming up and saying "this was us," that this bombing's purpose is to keep CIA, FBI (etc) involved in something small while something larger (ie- attack by N. Korea) is planned?

With the general effectiveness of North Korea, if they were involved, the only casualties would be North Koreans.

From what I've heard, the pressure cooker filled with shrapnel, sounds an awful like the IEDs that our military sees over in Iraq and Afghanistan. If it were some homegrown terrorist upset at the government, they would have struck at a building or other symbol of the government, jihadists usually do widespread attacks like these that target a crowd and try and injure or kill as many people as possible.

All of the bad information and reporting of rumors that is has happened in the last 24 hours will only serve one purpose.

It will be used to fabricate a fabulous tale of conspiracy. All of the false rumors, even the picture of the guy walking on the roof. These idiots wearing tinfoil hats that think the entire government is out to get them will spin a tale of conspiracy and say it was an inside job by the US government.

The same thing happened with 9/11.

Somehow I don't expect Michael Moore to come out with a movie about how Obama masterminded a massive conspiracy so that he could take everyone's guns away.

When I heard the pressure cooker and nails things it immediately made me think of Afghanistan and al queda. Because there have been those cases where terrorists have been arrested and said they made the mistake of not adding or adding enough nails to the bombs. BUT that doesn't mean some idiot domestic American hasn't read up on it and did it themselves. Just reminded me of those stories.
Also on the news yesterday they talked about some magazine that is made by al queda that they send to people in America which explains how to make bombs and places to hit. Crazy shit.

I honestly don't see the problem. Rec was being a smartass by using sarcasm/exaggeration to display that midsate's post was irrelevant. He took it a little too far obiviously, some posters got upset, but he did eventually apologize. Not even sure why this is still being discussed after 389 posts.

That pic is included. I would say equivalent.

Except I think they show one of the fatalities (girl in blue top) in one of the photos (that one's actually not that gory).

Heard on the radio today that the 8-year old boy and his mom / sister were running away from the 1st explosion and ran right into the 2nd. Mom has brain trauma, sister is an amputee.

Yeah, good point. I was referring to the 1st photo. I think there are 3 of her on there.
