Masters has a stronghold on tv smcoverage since it is independent of everything. All other majors are tied to an entity (PGA/usga/etc) and the networks can negotiate more and better coverage for those majors in return for coverage of the smaller events that those entities entail.
It sucks, but nothing they can do. At least the masters allowed Thursday and Friday coverage recently. That used to not happen at all

I do a player pick em deal with one of my buddies for each major. Person with the highest finishing player gets his dinner paid for. My team is Tiger Woods, Justin Rose, and Keegan Bradley, and he has Phil Mickelson, Brandt Snedeker, and Matt Kuchar. Pretty even to me. As always though the lesson is no matter how great something is it gets even better with gambling

Everyone's pick, Marc Leishman leading at -6.

I've had all week off, so I've spent it relaxing and watching The Masters.
Just kidding. Golf is boring as fuck.

Your job updates are boring as fuck. The Masters, on the other hand, is great entertainment.dlazz;1423680 wrote:I've had all week off, so I've spent it relaxing and watching The Masters.

A 14 year old shot +1 73. That is ridiculous considering he only drives the ball 250.

:laugh:He'd have to basically go driver-wood every single hole. It is just insane the distance those guys get, I mean 170 yard shots with a 9? That's almost unthinkable to me who goes at that distance with a 6ikaren lotz;1423706 wrote:A 14 year old shot +1 73. That is ridiculous considering he only drives the ball 250.

Two coolest thing today for me:
Boom-boom at 2 back.
Masters app watching live coverage during lunch.

Boom boom is a constant 64 hole contender at Augusta

True, but the small chance that he and his back could hold it together is great print.Ironman92;1423816 wrote:Boom boom is a constant 64 hole contender at Augusta

Tiger said in the practice round he played with him earlier in the week the kid is hitting hybrids into every single hole just about. Some of them he can barely get to in 2 on a par 4.He'd have to basically go driver-wood every single hole.
When you think about it, that a 14 year old who is far shorter length wise than a Corey Pavin can shoot 73 on a course known as a bombers paradise is astounding.
Most of those greens weren't designed to be hitting long clubs into them, so that makes it all the more amazing.
I think he is going to have a crappy day tomorrow, but for one day what he has done is amazing.

I've watched a mess of golf since the mid 80's and Couples is WAY up the list of my favorites.

I could not believe he fucking shot 1 over. Phenom. I was expecting 80+ at least. I'm sure it's coming, but still a 73 in the Masters, at 14, is pretty amazing.karen lotz;1423706 wrote:A 14 year old shot +1 73. That is ridiculous considering he only drives the ball 250.

The kid shot +3 today. Right now, he is 1 shot over the cut line (10 shot rule). Hopefully DJ bogeys back to -6, or more players fall back with the wind and fast greens this afternoon. I would like to see the kid make the cut and play the weekend.

Wow. Just saw that DJ lost 3 strokes on the last 2 holes. Now tied for the lead at -4 (with Freddie!!). Looks like the kid might make it to the weekend.

Andy North this AM said the scoring conditions was great today and the leader would get to -10. Im thinking -6 will be a damn good score and would be leading if anyone can get there! Crazy turnaround...

Guan received a 1 stroke penalty for slow play. Are you f-ing kidding me??? You don't have the stones to penalize the douches that play slow every week on tour, and you decide to do it to this kid? Geez.

They don't really play that slow on the tour though, rarely do they hit a 4 hr roundFred Garvin;1424247 wrote:Guan received a 1 stroke penalty for slow play. Are you f-ing kidding me??? Watch Bernard Langer or Ben Crane for a few holes. It's painful and rediculous.

They essentially have a "shot-clock" type of rule. The kid was warned earlier in the round...and still didn't speed up. It sucks for him...but the rule is there for a reason.

I hate slow play. And if he was playing slow then he does deserve it. Hopefully it will teach the youngster to speed up a bit.
