Which is why he's paying for his mistake with a 2 shot penalty.

Damn, why is that so hard to understand? HE IS BEING PENALIZED.

He signed the damn scorecard because the rules official told him there was no penalty. How can he be DQ'd when they told him there was no penalty and he then signed for a 71?

The same way they called him in this morning and said he did commit a rules violation and penalized him. Damn. What's so hard to understand?

They told him he'd have to play his shot from his nearest point as possible. He didn't. He's disqualified

It was up to the committee to tell him, before he signed his card, that they had reviewed the drop he took on 15. And that they had deemed it ok. They didn't tell him this and later determined that he in fact did break a rule. This is where the new rule comes in to protect him. And it's a great rule.

Huh? They didn't tell him anything before he played the shot. Then some jackass called in and said he committed a violation. They reviewed the tape, said it wasn't an issue, so he signed the card. Then they reviewed it again after he told Rinaldi that he dropped two yards further back and penalized him. How the hell could he have known to card a 73 when they told him he was fine?

Everyone knows how much you hate Tiger, so there's clearly no getting around this with you. The committee at Augusta National agrees with me. You, Nick Faldo, and Brandel Chamblee can go hang out and watch Tiger this weekend.

You and these old white guys on the Golf Channel are the only ones who have that narrow-minded thought process. You all sound pathetic.

If he were Marc Leishman he'd be DQ'd. But he's big ratings Tiger so he's playing.

A rules official didn't talk to him after he hit it in the water?

I could be wrong, but I don't think they have walking officials with the groups at Augusta, so no.

It is one of the few tournaments that doesn't have walking officials with the players on the coarse.

I think I heard them say the same thing vball said...no walking official.

If an official did talk to him, then that official clearly didn't have a damn clue because no one told him that what he was doing was wrong.

ESPN aired the press conference with the head of the Augusta rules committee, and he explained it very well. And there's no way he should have been DQd.

They don't but zwick is always right he knows the game don't you know that?

The committee at the masters said they are going to look into have a walking rule official with every group.
