JJ's line of BS was the same crap Natali and Frantz were spewing in the days before the change. Hell, for all we know, they wrote it and just put his name on it so people'd think he was involved in the decision. It's hilarious how dead they are. I saw the T/I board at about 5:30 p.m. and there were five threads that had been updated since noon.

Just an FYI -

We have 1,600 people on the site right now. That is about average on a Thursday nigth. In those terms, the Huddle hasn't skipped a beat.

The people are still here. I think everyone is still just trying to figure out the new arrangement of the site.

I also think some people are taking a step back and letting the dust settle before diving right back in.
After Natali made this statement, and got called out on it, the thread disappeared!
Hahahaha, oh man that is classic.

They have to be freaking out as they just torched a $1,000,000 investment.
Haha that was me and Rec that called him out. I'm surprised I'm not banned yet over there.

I enjoyed my time on the "pay" huddle until it came to this point, but I am much happier here. No longer do you have to worry about mods tracking your every post and wondering when your day will come.

I never paid the $10 dollar lifetime fee, I stayed off the huddle during that time... But I will say this, for those of you who did pay the 10 bucks and are getting the shaft, I support you guys and will stay off that other Huddle as well. I think its a crock of shit that they only want to honor it for a year. Hopefully with time, more people will see the light and come over in support.

Or dumb asses like me that payed 15 dollars. Truth be known I didn't care. I drink 16 dollar 6-packs for a living, but I would give them KAKA right now. Well KAKA in my own messed up way.

I few good quotes over on paypay.

"I just went through all 3 high school football forums and the trivia forum and page one goes back 24 hours. Up until this week you go on any of the 4 and the oldest topic on page one would only be about 2 hours old. Even if I wanted to pay the 12 buck it wouldn't be worth it."

"Any internet forum operator that disallows even the mention of its competitors is amateur and misguided at best."

If they are willing to grandfather past-payers in for a year, that just tells me that they very well could have waited till after football season was over.

I never paid for JJhuddle. I was on in April of 2001 and never spent once cent on that garbage site.

That being said, if they would grandfather people in for one year, it leads me to believe they weren't hurting at all for money and that they didn't need the money. They got greedy. 12 bucks per member equals out to a lot of money.

They figured 12 bucks isn't alot to one person, but if they got 12 bucks from everyone, they'd be making some nice coin. However, what they didn't expect is people to stand up against them because of the principle behind it all. They made people pay lifetime membership fees before and then welched on it. Who wants to belong to something like that?

No matter what they do now, they have really screwed up.

Poor economy + bad business model = FAIL

If it was a one-time $10 fee....properly communicated (i.e. to "save" the site)...I might have been down...but this $1/month forever is nuts.

Only eight topics have been hit so far today in the sports/info forum.
That says a lot about how many stayed.

I pretty much walked a very narrow line after they let me back on after my lifetime ban that left approximately three years I believe. I went as far as making a large ignore list so I would not take shots back at those that loved to take them at me.

I have no problem with them charging a fee just as I had no problem not paying it. Their site do as they wish. I did think it was wrong for them to not let those who had paid in the past to continue posting on all of the forums.

They made their bed and I am all but sure they will change the covers on it before sleeping.

This is a great analogy. It's like watching a train wreck with a mixture of disgust and curiousity. To take something so good and destroy it so quickly is mind-boggling.

The best part is... if they (the girl or JJ) catch you looking, they actually think you're interested in them!
