I usually order medium rare, but I can eat rare.

I always get my burgers medium rare too, and for some reason that disgusts people.

You're just masking the meat flavor with grease smoke and char.If that's the flavor you like, more power to you.

Some just can't stand the thought of eatung meat that's fully cooked. I can understand that I guess.

I don't cook it until it's tough like shoe leather. I just don't care to see red when I cut it open nor the taste.

Typically, I tell restaurants to cook is to be as rare as possible.

At home, however, I just cook it to be about the same as everyone else's, which is normally medium.
