Who, also at home, has lost to Harvard by 16 and Bryant by 2. After all, Indiana has a (home) 43-point win over that Bryant team that beat BC by twice as many points as Duke did!
The transitive property is obviously meaningless. Indiana lost by five at home to Wisconsin, which lost to Marquette, which lost to Tennessee Tech by 10, which lost to Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, which lost to Chicago State (7-17)...
You do realize that Boston College led Miami (at full strength with Reggie Johnson and Durand Scott in the lineup) on Jan. 16 with under a minute to go, before falling 60-59? Boston College also lost to N.C. State by 4 and had then-top 15 Baylor on the ropes until the final minutes. So B.C. can definitely compete. Ryan Anderson is a great player.

This I agree with. And I never argued that. I thought Miami should vault to No. 1 for this reason. I just don't think Indiana should have, after losing to such an awful team earlier in the week. I mean, let's be serious, despite a quick start to the year, Illinois had gone 1-6 heading into the Indiana game and was sitting at ninth place in the Big Ten. They were playing just awful basketball. (During one three-game losing stretch, Illinois lost by a combined 48 points.)
