If he can accomplish that task, it surely would be. But then, we all know that he's simply being a smart-a and he thinks that insulting Chicago is an insult to me. It isn't!

Then I would attend the football and basketball games of the suburb I resided in and just sit there, not cheer them on, but take mental notes about all the things that I thought they did wrong.

Then I would get on the area sports chat sites and tell everyone how it is.
I guess this is supposed to be an affront...tsk, tsk, tsk!

I think the best solution is to have Smuckers take over our schools. Call it the Smuckers Academy(similar to the Ginn Academy). Make it a private school (have to play atleast 2 sports to attend...and be good at those sports) but free tuition! After graduation you are given a job at Smuckers, required to live in Orrville until your kids get through the Academy and then start the cycle all over again.

OR...have Smuckers open their checkbooks again and flip the bill in place of the levy failing...

On a brigher note...only 152 more days until another loss to Wooster for you guys! Sorry, couldn't resist! And I thought it might be a good idea to start talking actual football again!

Great the Wooster guy with bragging rights for the year is using them. It has been a long time since we have been on this end of that. I don't like it.

Well, with the current situation, that'll only leave you with girls basketball, volleyball and a few track athletes...

With Smuckers' having purchased so many properties lately, do you think they voted to pass the levy?

If only we could see the list of people that voted "No"......and I am sure there are people who are voting NO that typically (or in the past) were always "YES" voters when it comes to supporting schools!!!

You mean the 10 or so employees that actually live here & would have a vote?

By a quick count, 13 high school staff members resigned, retired or were transferred out of 40.

Largest turnover I have ever seen.

Must feel good to finally get one back......I mean, it has to be exciting when you beat your D5 rival every so often and never make the playoffs!

Hey, not my problem you have to bring up the Division thing when you can't beat Wooster. Same with the people that don't want to "play up" or don't want to face the OCC "meatgrinder" anymore. Maybe you can join WCAL for the next several years in Football only? :p

I have to admit just for you Old Rider...it is comical that you guys usually only need to win 5-6 games to get into the playoff in DV, and you can't even do that anymore. Hope you're prepared for your down cycle like Wooster had to endure in the 90's...cause it's here.

What do you think happened that turned their "Yes" vote to a "No" vote? Do you really think that they don't support the schools? Do you realize that perhaps it is a financial reason for their "No" vote?

And the word of the day for you is "basement." Because that's where you'll be for the next several years. Enjoy!

Perhaps you need to write a letter to Smuckers or in your column at Orrviews, an article about why so many of Smuckers employees don't live in a town with such great schools and rich history.

Never said otherwise...it is totally a financial decision. If I didn't have kids in the system, I would have voted NO. Even with my "yes" vote, it was going to put a financial burden on my family. My wife stays home to raise our boys and living on one income is hard enough. I am not sure exactly how I will vote next time around or if my kids will attend Orrville next school year.

I like how you use the word "several" years....where as in Wooster's case its been the entire life of your sorry program!

Man...we've been down for a few years...but we still have more OCC Championships in football than Orrville? Yep, guess so. Sorry the mystique of your program is now non-existant. Sorry two of your HOF'ers going in this year never beat us on the field. Sorry you still haven't won a home game on your new field. Evidently, "sorry" is now your 2nd word of the day.

This is so much better than levy talk...some real football trash talk has been long overdue on this thread! I will truly miss it when I'm out of the area later this fall.

And you have to come to an Orrville Football thread to find it because there is not one thread dedicated to your sorry program! And I am also sorry that I won more games on Follis Field my senior year than the Wooster Football team did! I do love the trash talking:D

Not too shabby....for something that happened 19 years ago. Guess you learned from the whooping the Generals put on you the year before on your home field.
