For me, if true, this changes things drastically. The only difference, and it is a difference and technically a lie, she was a he. Love of his life, etc. may all still be true along with actually meeting, dying of cancer, etc. Of course, Swarbrick is on TV right now saying that it was a hoax and Te'o got duped. I think it could happen, yes, but not for the length of time that this has gone on, not for phone calls every night for months, not a faked death.
