I cant hear the tv at bdubs but it looked like two players from the dbacks were getting into it. I kept waiting for one to smile to show it was a joke but it never happened. Anyone else see it?

Gerardo Parra and Willie Bloomquist.....Bloomquist gave him a little pat and then an "it's ok, neck squeeze" and Parra angrily swiped his hand away and walked away pissed.....Bloomquist went walking towards him to make sure things were ok and Parra finally gave the big smile that everyone was looking for....TV may not have shown it all. It's all on MLB Ap

I can't say I get it.....these guys are at games everyday for YEARS and they can't tell a HR? Sitting in the seats I can tell almost immediately every time.....but if I was unsure at all I'd hesitate just a split second to make sure one way or the other.

Chip Carey is the worst at that. Anything in the air that isn't on the infield has a chance to go out off the bat.

Speaking of Caray's....tonight while eating out at a sit down restaurant we are across from 2 old couples (both husbands were at least 80 years old)....of the 4 the one guy just kept doing all the talking and he put down a couple glasses of beer.....by the end of their meal this guy was spot on Harry Caray....my wife and I were dying.

I miss Harry.

Maybe they have the same TV footage in their booth that we get at home. I can't count the number of times just this year where FoxOhio will take a fly ball and have their camera in a position where you're thinking upper deck homer or something...and then it doesn't even make the warning track.

Toledo folks will care, and Michigan fans as well.

But Jackson Lamb, the standout CF/P for the Bedford Kicking Mules just over the border in Michigan turned down a 3rd round draft pick because the team that wanted him wouldnt give him a 1.5-2 million dollar signing bonus. He will now be a Michigan Wolverine.

I commend the youngster and family for this. They said all along if he wasnt a 1st or 2nd rounder, he would go to Michigan. But to actually follow through on those words when a team calls you about your "signability" in the 3rd round it become a lot tougher...

For the record, he is easily the best HS baseball player I have ever seen. Easy.

To give us an idea.....what players have you seen in high school?

Burke Badenhop
Brian Bixler
Andrew Brackman (didnt get to see him pitch, however)
Chris Carpenter (Not the Cards guy lol)
Derek Deitrich
Adam Eaton
Chad Reineke
Justin Thomas

Some guys were drafted higher than the 3rd, but I didnt think they had the upside Jackson Lamb does. He is a better CF than he is a pitcher, and he can touch 95 on the gun.

Niese and Billingsley were decent. Didn't see Niese in person in HS though.

Actually going back a little further, Matt King from Start was the best pitcher I have seen in HS. Was on their 31-0 national champion team in mid 90s.

And Lamb is taken in the 20th round today, officially. Texas Rangers taking the chance, but they wont get him. He is going to Michigan.

lol, yeah, he might have been and acceptable late-inning defensive replacement or (more likely) an organizational player who lived at AAA and filled in when needed in the bigs, but where he was drafted, he was expected to be a middle infielder of the future. And that didn't work out at all.

Rangers and Blue Jays are in the 18th and the Mets and Marlins are in the 16th.
