I'd rather have a class act Joe Thomas like player bring the first championship in 50 years to the city than a self serving douche like LQJ.

+1. Reps Couldn't agree more. They can suck bricks.like_that;1462185 wrote:Call me butthurt, but I am on BR's side with this issue. The culture of athletes these days is just pathetic. Gordon needs to grow the **** up, plain and simple. The worst part about it is we have this culture where we have to coddle and cater to every athlete so we don't hurt his feelings and he leaves. It's ****ing annoying. The Browns have a long way to be a consistently good team, but I hope one day they are good enough to have a successful system no matter who is playing. That way they can be just like the patriots and tell players to **** off if they think it is all about appeasing them.
If Gordon produces, it will solve everything, but let's be real here. The team hasn't won more than 5 games since 2007. Gordon hasn't done **** yet to act like a complete **** head.
EDIT: I was reading what Phil Taylor and Josh Gordon were posting on twitter. It was a fucking joke. Rubbing it in the fans faces like that. GFY. We help pay your salary and you want to bitch slap us? I was a huge Gordon fan. Now I'm kinda mehhh on that fuck. Like somebody posted earlier, dude has 800 career yards and he acts like he is Jerry Rice Status

I can't speak for everyone, but I definitely see your side despite not really agreeing. I would obviously love if all of our players were like Joe Thomas and kep to themselves, but I just kind of see how these AA Athletes are now a days. They love Lebron and will do anything to hang out with him. I guess I just don't take that as a slap in the face; but I could see where some would.like_that;1462272 wrote:I see both sides too, what I don't understand is the fact some here don't understand the "fuck those guys," stance. This isn't an attack, because obviously we are going to differ on views (also we aren't pussies in this thread, so we don't need to worry about butt hurtness), but I just don't get how the other side can't accept our side.
I can't speak for other cities, because i only give a fuck about Cleveland, but it seems like ever since Lebron put on a cavs jersey Cleveland has developed this "oh we must cater to all our players or they will QQ and leave" mentality. I think it is safe to say the majority of cleveland fans (including the front office) bent over backwards to keep Lebron happy. Everyone was afraid to really insult Lebron despite the fact he had some douche tendencies (although not as blatantly obvious as they are now). What the fuck did our coddling get us? Absolutely nothing. Despite all the love and coddling, he still was a fucking POS and shit on the city of Cleveland on national TV. To make matters worse he went to a fucking city (actually might as well just say state) with the WORST fucking fans in all of pro franchises.
So, excuse me for telling players like Gordon/Taylor/Little to go fuck themselves when they symbolically give us the finger despite the fact we show them love every fucking sunday when they (the browns in general) have produced TWO winning seasons since returning as a franchise.

Ha settle down BR. He is a practice squad player at best, and he punched a guy. Dunno how they call that attempted murder. also, you can't babysit these thugs all day. One would think they would grow up at some point in their lives.BR1986FB;1462803 wrote:Team is turning into a bunch of punks. Undrafted rookie LB arrested for attempted murder....

I'm more pissed off at Lombardi/Banner's lack of due diligence. We've had, I believe, 5 incidents since Banner took over. One (Gordon) was on Heckert's watch. It's one thing to suck but to be a bunch of goons AND suck is another. loliclfan2;1463003 wrote:Ha settle down BR. He is a practice squad player at best, and he punched a guy. I agree, in the words of LCB, not a good look. Regardless of circumstance I would prefer our players to stay the fuck out of the media.BR1986FB;1463019 wrote:I'm more pissed off at Lombardi/Banner's lack of due diligence. Yeah, I don't have a real issue with guys being off-the-field friends (or friendly acquaintances), but as someone who loves the competition, some of the stuff that goes on makes me shake my head from time to time. I remember a few years back when Arizona beat Philly to make the Super Bowl around the end of Warner's career. Right after the game, you have Brian Dawkins (I think) going over to Warner with this huge-ass smile like he won something, while congratulating him.lhslep134;1462245 wrote:I'm in between the two competing groups of thought on the issue. I have no problem with athletes being around other athletes off the field, you just better be damn sure that it doesn't affect a single thing on the playing field. Take CP3 for example. Please excuse the war analogies but he is a field general who won't quit until he's "dead", but off the court he's buddies with those guys while being able to maintain the killer instinct.
If Gordon partying it up with those guys has no bearing on his playing then I'm okay with it, especially when it's someone from a different sport (ie Gordon and Lebron). That being said, I AM skeptical of anyone that says that being friends with competition has no effect. I still hate some of the rival kids I competed against in HS, so I understand where you (BR, COA, like_that) guys are coming from.
When you just lost a huge game and you're that visibly happy for someone on the other team, how the hell does that make your fans feel? "Looks like he didn't give two fucks about what happened...."?

Yeah I bet, Brandon.
Try being a quality NFL QB first, then you can start throwing coaches under the bus. Thanks.

I wouldny say thats throwing a coach under the bus. He basically just said the offense had no excitement. Regardless of what hes implying, I wouldn't say he threw anyone under thr bus

He has basically the same O-line, same RB, Gordon, Little, Benjamin.
They added a couple nice pieces..but teh biggest difference is coaching. That's what he's talking about.

It's definitely true. The coaches sucked last year; they seem to be pretty good this year (jury is still out on that, but I like the staff).Crimson streak;1465504 wrote:Well is it true?
I'm not "trying too hard" just don't think an NFL QB that is ranked the 32nd best QB in the league should be bad mouthing ANYONE. No matter how bad they were.
