"If all we did was take guys from Alabama and LSU, we'd be fucking great."

My favorite line.

At 3:30 p.m., the likelihood of trading the no. 6 pick still seems high. The discussion veers toward who they might end up taking if they fall back into the middle of the first round, a problem complicated by the utter impossibility of knowing who will still be available. On his laptop, Chudzinski is rewatching tape of a lineman he likes a little more than he probably should. He keeps watching footage from the same game, the single best performance the player had all year. Chudzinski knows the kid is flawed, but he remains intrigued by his physical frame. Banner is less bullish. "What does a bust look like before it happens?" he asks rhetorically. "It looks like four guys sitting in a room, trying to convince each other that some guy is better than we think he is."

Haha I love reading stuff by Chuck. It's always great stuff. But yeah that line was pretty good. I thought it was pretty funny how he got kicked out.

Didn't read the story but heard about it on the radio. I found it interesting that Mingo wasn't a "chopped liver" pick and he was their #1 target "or trade down if he's gone" pick on their board.

What the Browns want to do is swap the no. 6 pick for a later selection in the first round and another selection in the second. At 2:30, such a deal is already in place. The St. Louis Rams are willing to surrender the 16th overall pick and their second-round selection (plus a throw-in seventh-rounder) to move up to no. 6. However, the agreement has caveats. The Browns will agree to the deal only if Mingo is no longer available at no. 6, and the Rams will make the swap only if the specific guy they want (dynamic West Virginia WR Tavon Austin) is still there at no. 6.

Tony Grossi could cure cancer and I still wouldn't notice him.

Pretty much goes for any Cleveland media person.

Probably bitching because he didn't have any access to the war room. But why would they let him since he second guessed everything they did and posted his his own post draft/what they should have done, piece a few days later.

Sounds like both Weeden & Campbell had looked like hot garbage in OTA's until yesterday when I guess Weeden had a good day. Also heard them describe the WR corps as looking "world class" with Gordon & Little looking exceptional. Sheard supposedly looks explosive off the edge but like a turtle compared to the ridiculously fast Mingo.

I have seen this before during the off season. I will believe it when I see it.

I do think we have the second best receiving corps in the division behind Cincinnati.

Agreed but that's really not saying much. Steelers lost their best WR last year and the Ravens have never really had a great receiving corps.

Maybe I should've also mentioned "with the most upside?" Cincy's is solid but without AJ Green, not so much. Pittsburgh has Brown & Sanders with nothing after that. Baltimore has Torrey Smith and that's about it. The Browns have three young guys (Gordon, Little & Benjamin) who should continue to improve. Benjamin could be relegated to only special teams duties though. Just need someone who can consistently get them the ball.

Yeah, other than Green, I doubt the other cincy WR's do much with Dalton throwing them the ball.

I thought Benjamin had a great year and was underused. He had only one bad play all year. (last game unforced fumble on a catch against Pittsburgh). I hope Chud figures out how to use him more.
