The (s)hits just keep on coming...rumor floating around that a "prominent" Brown will start the season under suspension. Early rumblings are TJ Ward or Josh Gordon. Jesus...like friggin Groundhog Day after Haden last year.

No big loss IMO if its TJ Ward.BR1986FB;1447449 wrote:The (s)hits just keep on coming...rumor floating around that a "prominent" Brown will start the season under suspension. Early rumblings are TJ Ward or Josh Gordon. Jesus...like friggin Groundhog Day after Haden last year.

How do you figure? Regardless of your opinion on him (I think he's fine) who else is going to play SS??Commander of Awesome;1447456 wrote:No big loss IMO if its TJ Ward.

Just put another LBer back there. Will be about as good in coverage. Probably healthier too.iclfan2;1447495 wrote:How do you figure? Regardless of your opinion on him (I think he's fine) who else is going to play SS??

Banner Q&A. Thinks Browns can compete quickly.

Also hearing it might be T-Rich.Commander of Awesome;1447456 wrote:No big loss IMO if its TJ Ward.
Speaking of which....am I the only one a tad concerned about these mounting injuries with T-Rich? There's a saying that once a RB starts to fall apart, he's never the same again. Now I'm not saying T-Rich is breaking down but these little injuries are a bit concerning to me.

So, half the Seahawks roster can dip into peds, but it's not ok if someone on the Browna takes adderral as a party favor?

As a browns fan I don't see how you can read that and hate on banner. Sometimes you need somebody cocky/arrogant enough to take something to another level. Plenty of athletes are arrogant when they take take field or court and their performance turns out to be superior.
Only thing I can criticize is the organizations concern for a "fan experience." Nothing greater to me than tailgating in the muni lot an easing to the stadium to watch the Browns play. The passion makes it the best and most underrated fan experience in the NFL IMO. If they want to improve te fan experience.... start winning. Pretty simple.

I didn't read the article but I agree with the premise that they can compete quickly. Heckert set the table for these guys with young talent, that played A LOT last year, and a ton of cap space. These guys, if not SUSPENDED, should hit their stride this year. With the addition of an outstanding coaching staff (see NO Pat Shurmur offense), they should be much improved.like_that;1447670 wrote:As a browns fan I don't see how you can read that and hate on banner. It's really all going to depend on the QB play. Weeden HAS to step up because, of the three, he has the most potential upside. Campbell is what he is and Hoyer is a backup at best. If Weeden doesn't step up, it's going to be another somewhat miserable season and we'll be looking for another QB next year.

It's Weeden or bust. I don't know if you guys ever watched Campbell last year, but he was HORRIBLE in Chicago. He's here to help Weeden, off the field, in my opinion; not in the organization's on the field plans at all.
And Hoyer, yeah idk what that signing was about.
Weeden has to be the man, or we'll be taking another QB in the first round next year. Here's to hoping we don't have to do that.

Agree 100%. At this point, I don't KNOW if Weeden is THAT guy. He has to be though for this team to do anything this year. Campbell & Hoyer are fine as backups.SportsAndLady;1447676 wrote:It's Weeden or bust. I don't know if you guys ever watched Campbell last year, but he was HORRIBLE in Chicago. Campbell was solid the yr prior in Oakland. I don't think he's going to be the starter but I do think he's a solid backup. Much better than Jake FAILhomme, Colt McCoy, Thad Lewis or Seneca Wallace. Also it can't be ignored that when he played for Chicago, their RBs were hurt and he played behind one of the worst Olines in the NFL.SportsAndLady;1447676 wrote:It's Weeden or bust. Starting to hear more and more noise that Josh gordan is the one who failed a drug test, SMH. Hope the rumor is false, but we'll see.

Three things that really piss me off about this.Commander of Awesome;1447831 wrote:Starting to hear more and more noise that Josh gordan is the one who failed a drug test, SMH. Hope the rumor is false, but we'll see.
1. How fucking dumb and selfish can you be? He already saw Haden get in trouble last year, why even take the damn risk.
2. The fact all these Seattle players can get away with this shit.
3. The flawed drug policy in the NFL. Adderral = the same punishment as a regular steroid? GTFO.

Unfortunately, given Gordon's history, it wouldn't surprise me. You'd figure he would grow up some after what he went through in college.

As a Browns, I am disappointed if the rumor is true. Def would think he would have grown up a bit, and was excited to see him on the field after all the great notes I've read about his improvements. As a Dallas fan, you can relate to this somewhat with what goes on with Dez Bryant.Pick6;1447849 wrote:Unfortunately, given Gordon's history, it wouldn't surprise me. Somewhat, though he has never had any drug problems (besides his crack head mom) nor been suspended any games in the NFL and appears to have turned himself around.Commander of Awesome;1447857 wrote:As a Browns, I am disappointed if the rumor is true. Anyways, back on topic... I hope none of these rumored suspensions come to fruition. IMO, the Haden suspension really set the Browns back last year, and a Gordon or T-Rich suspension would carry just as strong repercussions.
