Browns should keep sheard. They could have a pretty solid front 7 this year, with depth.

Or STL knew that Cleveland and Arizona werent making Austin their pick and just waited...so they didnt have to give up as much.IggyPride00;1433889 wrote:Lombardi and Banner must love Mingo, because STL just gave Buffalo their 2nd round pick to trade up.
Considering Banner was supposedly playing the league like a fiddle today, he had to have known he could be their trade partner. Opted to make the pick instead.

Exactly.Laley23;1433890 wrote:Yeah, LSU was so stacked defensively I wouldnt look at his numbers. I would look at a few things:
If he passes those (and a few I am sure Im missing) then I love the pick. I havent watched a ton on him, though so I dont know. But it appears he passes all the tests and people are saying he would fall based soley on his college numbers.
- What does he look like in coverage?
- Does he miss open field tackles?
- Does he have speed to the outside and moves to the inside on his rushes?
- What is his closing speed?

Everything I've ever seen about Mingo is that he has a great motor and is a hard worker.Pick6;1433888 wrote:But he is known to take plays off. Hopefully that changes.

maybe I have him mixed up with Montgomery, which makes sense since he is on Les' "list"Mulva;1433898 wrote:Everything I've ever seen about Mingo is that he has a great motor and is a hard worker.

Mary Kay Cabot ‏@MaryKayCabot 1m #Browns Mingo stressed again that it was his job to contain the many mobile quarterbacks he played this season, limited sacks.
LOVE reading that. If Miles thinks he is good enough to contain a mobile QB, that means he is confident in his open-field tackling. I am so sick of having guys dead only to have 3 missed tackles and a first down...

Would've liked Warmack, but we must be confident in the guards on the roster. I really want to trade up and get a 2nd rounder. Our defensive backfield needs addressed. I understand that a strong pass rush can often times make up for mediocre play in the defensive backfield, but Trevin Wade and Buster Skrine are not the answer.

A ton of areas need addressed. QB, G, CB, S, ILB, TE. Too many holes to plug in 1 draft.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1433912 wrote:Would've liked Warmack, but we must be confident in the guards on the roster. No doubt our secondary needs addressed. But Chud got a lot out of his offense down here in Carolina with a God awful offensive line. If guards are our worry then we are in a far better position than anything Carolina ever had. Not even including Cam's mobility because he didn't really have many designated rush players as people may expect.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1433912 wrote:Would've liked Warmack, but we must be confident in the guards on the roster. I'm already over the pick. We were basically forced into it without the ability to reasonably trade down, so at least we won't be letting QB's spend 8-10 seconds in the pocket without pressure. I'm looking forward to seeing what our new staff can bring out of this team.said_aouita;1433922 wrote:http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000163391/article/barkevious-mingo-drafted-by-cleveland-browns

Really, they feel "OK" trotting Buster Skrine out there?[INDENT]Cooper7 wrote: Will Burge ‏ @ WillBurge1m# Browns Chudzinski said we are ok trotting out the likes of Skrine and Bademosi in our defensive backfield. We are also glad we turned down the trade offer from the Rams --- it's worth it to draft a rotational player at 6.

Wasn't in any particular order. But I might disagree anyway. Until you have a QB it's always the number 1 need.DeyDurkie5;1433949 wrote:QB is not our number 1 need.
