I'd be fine with that assuming a trade down.Crimson streak;1427487 wrote:Ill take trufonte over all of them

Kiper posted what he'd consider an "A" draft for each time for rounds 1-3. Here is what he'd deem a success for the Browns.
Cleveland Browns
Top needs: CB, QB, G, ILB, TE
Rd. 1 (11) G Chance Warmack, Alabama (via San Diego)
Rd. 3 (68) QB EJ Manuel, Florida St.
Rd. 3 (76) CB Darius Slay, Mississippi St. (via San Diego)
Analysis: As the GM of the Browns, I trade down and still hit a top need. That No. 6 slot is a high-leverage one, because it could be the last chance for several teams in need to get one of the three top left tackle prospects. In this case, it's San Diego. I pick up this year's third and next year's as well. Without a second-round pick, the extra pick is a big help, and I still get a great player in Warmack, a guy who fills a need and should give a big boost to the run game. Warmack should be a Pro Bowl guard. The added third allows us to grab Manuel in a good value spot. For this draft you'll see I have quarterbacks lower than most, but that's a reflection of how I view the class. Lastly, Slay is a nice value in Round 3, an upgrade at the corner spot across from Joe Haden. This draft offers a good balance of immediate help at need spots, and the shot on upside at QB.

So a 3rd this year and next instead of a second this year. Sounds about even.mucalum49;1428095 wrote:Kiper posted what he'd consider an "A" draft for each time for rounds 1-3. Here is what he'd deem a success for the Browns.

Saw that, and I would be pretty happy if that's how it worked out. I like Manuel.

Still would prefer a second this yr. One 2nd > two 3 IMO. Otherwise why not trade seven 7th round picks for a 1st?

I didn't realize it until I read this, but I think I'm back to wanting Milliner. Looking at marginal benefits, he's the player that improves this team the most. CB is the biggest weakness IMO. Sure it would be nice to trade down, but the first pick has to be spent on the secondary (FS or CB) in my eyes. We have too many holes back there.

Jesus f*cking christ with this whole Jimmy Haslem thing. We FINALLY get a competent owner, except he and his company are under FBI investigation.

Looking forward to an NFL statement. The legal process is slow, but fraud usually = jail right?

So the browns will be for sale. Or owned by the league? I mean it can't have any implications on the browns. Or else it will affect the steelers too.

This lady is tweeting out a lot of quotes from the affidavit (quotes from Pilot employees):

Not a lot about Haslam directly, but god damn what a shady company. I would have to think that either Haslam knew exactly what was going on, or he's the most incompetent CEO on the planet.

LOL watch it be Randy Lerner. He is still has minority stake in the company, and Lerner will buy it back on the cheap.
So does that mean Heckert, Shurmur and Holmgren come back?

if this stuff about Haslam and Flying J is true, it will be interesting to see what happens. The commissioner has fined and suspended players for conduct detrimental to the league and I don't see why this would be any different, plus with the IRS involved , the selling of assets could happen and the new owner will be here and we can start all over yet again with a new regime. Lets hope this doesn't happen, I am so tired of constantly starting over.
