I'm wondering if any information obtained via a hack can be used as probable cause for law enforcement to launch an investigation/conduct searches on anyone identified as being involved or covering up.
If the answer is no, then they haven't provided anything for authorities to act on.

Cops have to follow rules though. They can't just "go get it". I've just never understood the social cause hacking. Plenty of hackers have been identified and arrested. Saying the fbi hasn't is like saying the dea hasn't identifyed drug smugglers.
