Worse, actually. Lol I believe Gardens was being a bit sarcastic. Jr., I think was 14th in the last practice. Best run was 7th.

Not NASCAR, but NASCAR drivers are in it, I think half of the cars in the Rolex 24 have had mechanical troubles and it's still in the first hour lol

This thread is about NASCAR. If you want to talk about...ah never mind as SOS already derailed it. I actually watched a lot of the Rolex 24. It didn't put me to sleep like some NASCAR races do.

If NASCAR only had 1 race a year, you probably wouldn't fall asleep during it either though.

That might be true. I just think it's the way NASCAR is filmed during the race. All the zoom, zoom, zooms from the camera shots make me go nite, nite, nite.:D

Shocking. A Ganassi car with Pruett, Montoya, Kimble, Dixon, and Rojas wins the Rolex 24.

I was standing on the finish line when the first car took the checkered flag. I wanted to get an up close view of the car as it won. The officials didn't mind since we are good friends. Rojas was a really nice guy. I met him after the race in the garage. They probably wouldn't have won if I didn't tell Montoya good luck before the race started in the garage. I was allowed in the garage because the officials like me. Kate Upton came back to my house with me after the race. We are getting ready to have a great time. I met take her kayaking and show her how to fish.

Kimble's right front tire guy used to work for my grandpa's grandpa back in 1901. They used to have some great times together.

They definitely try too hard and go way over the top sometimes. It's like, come on fuckers, just show the damn race and shut up.

Welp, I took some time away from the track to meet up with my best buddy Brian France to discuss some rules. I convinced him to make some changes in 2013. The major rule changes I talked him into are.

" The top 35 rule, in existence since 2005, will be eliminated. This rule was in place to ensure teams in the top 35 in car owner points (and their sponsors) would be in the race in an era when 50 or more cars were attempting to qualify for races.
" The top 36 positions will be set by qualifying speed with the remaining spots set by provisionals, including a champion's provisional. Provisionals are based on car owner points rankings. " A random draw will set the qualifying order. The past two seasons, the order was determined by speeds in the first practice session.

" Provisionals for the first three races next year will be based on the final car owner points standings this year instead of the first five races as in previous years.

" Each organization can test at four tracks of its choosing next season where NASCAR competes, the first time teams can do so since 2008. The series' sanctioning body banned testing in 2009, and since then teams could not test at tracks where NASCAR held races, but they could test on other tracks.

Me and Brian became best friends in 2006 when I convinced TIME magazine to name him one of their Top 100 InfluentialOf The Century. I convinced them because the editor of TIME magazine is my second best friend. We used to go dog sledding together in Antartica.

Brian France was born in Daytona Beach.

Looks like NASCAR is finally trying to do something about the start and parkers. I say make a minimum laps run rule. If you start, you have to run at least 25 laps or else you have to sit out the next 10 races or so. Obviously, wrecks or mechanical failure wouldn't be grounds for a penalty. But, this is a start I guess.

"CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- NASCAR will reallocate prize money from the last five spots in the field this season in an attempt to make it less profitable for teams to start and park.

"We moved prize money higher in the purse, so if someone's intent is solely to run a lap or two and park, the revenue stream shrinks,'' NASCAR president Mike Helton said Tuesday during an "Autoweek" panel discussion in Detroit.

According to NASCAR, each position from 43rd through 39th will receive $4,000 less for each position. For example, 39th will receive $4,000 less than 38th, 40th $4,000 less than 39th, etc.

NASCAR spokesman Kerry Tharp emphasized this is not a reduction in purses, that the overall prize money in 2013 will increase slightly. He said the money taken away from the last five spots will be redistributed "throughout the remainder of the field.''

"We want to produce an exciting and competitive racing atmosphere for our teams and our fans, and we think the revised distribution provides a better balance,'' Tharp said.

The move comes two weeks after Speedway Motorsports Inc. chairman Bruton Smith and Texas Motor Speedway president Eddie Gossage called start-and-park teams a disgrace to the sport.

"It's a joke,'' Smith said during the Sprint Media Tour. "It's a joke for the race fans.''

Gossage said the redistribution is a good first step, but it doesn't totally address the problem.

"That does not close the loophole,'' he said. "They're [NASCAR] trying to have their cake and eat it, too. This doesn't fix it. It does a little bit, but it doesn't fix it.

"Will we still see start-and-park teams? Yeah. They're making a bunch of money.''

Gossage said start-and-park Sprint Cup teams received more than $600,000 at TMS and approximately $17 million during the 36-race schedule in 2012.

"We're very generous,'' he said sarcastically.

Team owner Tommy Baldwin, who financed the start of his own Cup operation in 2009 through starting and parking, said NASCAR began discussing the reallocation of the purses to teams late last season.

He said it was not a reaction to Smith and Gossage calling for a change.

"He's kind of like one of those mad politicians who gets pieces of paper handed to him before he speaks,'' Baldwin said of Smith. "He has no idea what he's talking about.''

Baldwin said he wouldn't be in position to run full time for as many races as he does now had it not been for start-and-park money. He also does not blame NASCAR for trying to encourage teams to run longer and compete.

"NASCAR is taking the right steps,'' he said. "They did a really good job [with this]. They talked to us about the situation, what their plan was and why they're doing it.

"At the end of the day, it makes sense what they're doing.''

Helton said during the panel discussion that while it is "irritating'' that teams have been allowed to take advantage of the rules for financial gain, he supports teams trying to move into NASCAR's premier series."

It's totally homosexual what they do. When you're there live and see this car constantly pitting or driving into the garage it annoys the heck out of you. They totally play to lose
