Humor me: what would the Big 10's bowl record be this year if OSU and PSU were eligible? Would probably look like this:

Ohio State vs. Stanford
Nebraska vs. Georgia
Penn State vs. South Carolina
Michigan vs. Mississippi State
Northwestern vs. TCU
Wisconsin vs. Texas Tech
Michigan State vs. Oklahoma State
Purdue vs. ???? ... no way Purdue beats anyone the way they looked today
Minnesota vs. ??? ... will give Minny the benefit of the doubt moving down in class

6-3?? hmmmm .... guess we'll never know ...

Bama is #2 in the AP, OSU is #3. Assuming the Coaches Poll would have mirrored the AP, even with Bama's penalty for losing to A&M, they would have been way ahead in the computer rankings. Don't have a link handy, but I remember this was a conversation on ESPN and they said Bama would have gone (not that those asshats know anything, but still).

This. You don't have 2 unbeatens, 2 STORIED unbeatens, 2 NATIONAL POWERHOUSES (lol at ND powerhouse) not be in the NCG.
