He got a lot of run with the ones during Spring ball, but that was mostly because Shazier was out. I still would've thought he could've got plenty of playing time on special teams and backup linebacker. I would imagine there's more to it than playing time.

He was very likely gonna see playing time.

thanks for the info.

I'll guess he ends up at BG with a HS teammate who transferred out of SMU. Gehrig Dieter set all kinds of receiving records in HS but had some attitude problems. Their coach was also criticized for throwing the ball deep to Dieter with games already in hand to try and put up bigger numbers.

BG was on the list I saw. Miami and toledo were the others, I think.

Great article on sports illustrated right now on OSU.

Can't post it from my phone but I loved shaziers comments on the SEC.

"I hear about if all the tone from my cousin, SEC this SEC that. There's one reason I came to Ohio State: to beat up on the SEC."

There was a guy on Twitter last night talking about how much the national media now loves OSU since Meyer was there, and how they weren't big fans of Tressel. It's a pretty true statement. I just think they didn't like how Tressel never gave them much as far as insight to the team.

Shazier is a fucking boss. He will probably end up being my all-time favorite OSU linebacker when he's done.

Random, but last night Kiper gave his very early mock top 10 for next year's draft. Roby was #9 and first DB listed.

I've always been been a big fan of beasty corners. Malcolm Jenkins was the man and Roby seems to be following his path.

Was about to post something just like this. He is a stud and IMO will be the best linebacker in college this year. He's fast, always around the ball, and makes big plays. Still can't believe he was 2nd team All-B1G last year. Should have been 2nd team All American at worst and top B1G linebacker. I think he's gone after this year and will be a first round pick but his size might hurt his draft stock.

I'd assume Shazier's stats are even more favorable compared to Teo's if you would do a full regular season season comparison. Shazier finished with 17.0 TFL, if I recall. Anyone who watched both LBs play could see Shazier was a better, more dynamic, linebacker. Hopefully, this isn't the last year we see Shazier in the scarlet and grey, but if so, I'm sure he will go out as a first round pick.

I have no doubts that Shazier will be the best LB in college football next season. He may have been last season.

T
he leading receiver from GT is walking on at OSU. Not sure why he left GT, but he only had 284 yards last year so we'll see what he amounts to.
probably wanted to do something other than block on option plays

Nothing out of the ordinary....

Paraphrasing, but he was asked something along the lines of "what do you think of OSU's chances to win the national championship this year?". He said "I dont think they can compete with the SEC yet. They are getting there with Urban Meyer. Meyer has changed the way B1G school's are recruiting. I think Meyer needs a few more recruiting classes before he can compete in the SEC. I dont think OSU can win it with Braxton Miller at quarterback."

Tom Herman ‏@CoachTomHerman 11m “Ohio State incoming Freshman LB Mike Mitchell finished 3rd in the 100M in Texas with a 10.95 but also finished 1st in Shot Put”

Yeah...odd.

I do agree with everything he said though, except the Miller part.
