I completely agree it's relevant to the solutions, but that's not what we were discussing. The solution to the issue doesn't change the fact that it is in fact preferable to be born white at this point in time. If for no other reason than you are therefore statistically less likely to be born into poverty.

Though I'm unsure how a thread about Patraeus fucking some chick turned into whining about minorities/poor people in the first place.

correlation =/= causation....which is what I think many find offensive about the argument. The proper way of looking at it is if you aren't borne into poverty, odds are you're more likely to be white. The way you framed it actually is racist because it suggests success is solely determined on skin color to the exclusion of ability.

The question that puzzles me is why is the CIA director able to pull better tail than the POTUS? Now if we bring in Kennedy maybe not

Never said or implied that as my belief. A person born black is more likely to be born into poverty. I said the reason for this is up for debate, which it most certainly is. Some say there is still societal prejudice, others say there is a problem within the black community. Insecure people may say it's because blacks are inherently worse in some way, doesn't really matter to the context of my point.

As am I. Considering the participants in this affair are white and in no ways poor. There is much to say about the other discussion but I'll leave that one alone for now.

Now back on topic. I would not read much more into this at this point than simple human nature. The dude spends large amounts of his time away from his wife. An attractive women comes along and spends significant amounts of time with him aiding in authoring his personal biography. He shares details of his career and personal life as a necessity of the business relationship. No doubt off the record personal conversations were born of this. Then the morning runs together. A man of power and influence also has the immediate attraction of some women.

Leaders in the positions of power that Petraeus held swear vows of loyalty. When they violate vows of loyalty to their immediate family whose value would be perceived by many as above that of government. It creates a spirit of doubt. Especially among subordinates. We are talking about national intelligence were vows to secrecy are life and death. Petraeus realized this and did the right and honorable thing for the nation instead of clinging to power at all costs. At this point this is all I can reasonably make of this.
