Forgot about Kansas St. Had no clue Pitt was ranked, doesnt seem like they should be, but that Cuse win was enough I guess.WebFire;1382233 wrote:You are thinking of OSU, who has beat 1. Michigan has beat 3, all on the road or neutral court. Pitt, Kansas St and Minny.

Duke was a neutral court loss for the Gophers, to date their only home loss is to Michigan (conference wins over MSU, Northwestern, Nebraska, and Iowa).Heretic;1382235 wrote:I'd definitely give them kudos for the win at Minnesota. It was game two of a four-game losing streak for them, but the only home loss they've had other than Duke in November. And came right after that narrow loss at Indiana, meaning they won a road game over a highly-ranked opponent coming off a tough loss on the road — which is never easy.

Ah, thanks. I was going off Yahoo...where they don't tell you if it's neutral or not. Either home or road, depending on if (I guess) you're designated home/road for that game. Because OSU's two neutral court wins over Rhode Island and Washington are called road games there.gorocks99;1382258 wrote:Duke was a neutral court loss for the Gophers, to date their only home loss is to Michigan (conference wins over MSU, Northwestern, Nebraska, and Iowa).

I'm ok with the jersey, but the socks and the shoes are hideous.

Difference is I dont think osu is a top 3 team in the country. I dont think they're top 15 even. But everyone is all over michigan and theyve done nothing on the road. Minny is a tough place to play for sure. But theyre in full melt down mode like usual.

For the record, I think michigan is really really good. I just think they've proved nothing on the road

Most teams dont ever prove anything on the road.Midstate01;1382390 wrote:For the record, I think michigan is really really good. I just think they've proved nothing on the road

I agree, they are 1-2 against top 50 RPI on the road (W vs Minnesota, L vs Ohio State and Indiana), 1-0 at home (NC State). They'll have a couple more chances to prove themselves in that arena with games @ Wisconsin and @ MSU coming up.Midstate01;1382390 wrote:For the record, I think michigan is really really good. Ohio State, meanwhile, is 0-2 against the top 50 RPI on the road (Duke, MSU) and 2-1 at home (W vs Wisconsin and Michigan, L vs Kansas).
And heck, for more comparison...
Indiana: 0-0 away vs top 50, 4-1 home
Florida: 0-2 away vs top 50, 5-0 home
Duke: 0-2 away vs top 50, 1-0 home

Going to be extremely tough for any B1G team to prove something on the road in this conference. I said from the beginning that I think it comes down to the team(UM,IU,MSU,and OSU) that can pull off a big road victory. A win for the Bucks tonight would be huge for them.

Exactly. Teams never really prove much on the road. Heck, you have to play in a conference with enough good teams just to have 2-3 chances in a given year...gorocks99;1382403 wrote:I agree, they are 1-2 against top 50 RPI on the road (W vs Minnesota, L vs Ohio State and Indiana), 1-0 at home (NC State). This is a game Michigan should and probably will win. It would be a steal if OSU got out of there with a W and it would OSU a chance at the regular season title.

Agreed. And agree with laley as well. Buy usually the elite teams will have some very good road wins. Maybe its just a sign college basketball is down as a whole

That's probably the most likely explanation. No truly great team (like Kentucky 2012) this year.Midstate01;1382487 wrote:Maybe its just a sign college basketball is down as a whole

I think he's referencing Minnesota in full meltdown mode, not Michigan.WebFire;1382526 wrote:Full melt down mode? WTF are you even talking about?
And while losing four straight - @ Indiana, vs Michigan, @ Northwestern, @ Wisconsin - is a huge cause for concern, I'd argue only one of those was really unexpected (@ NW). It's basically a meltdown that, if you looked at the schedule, wouldn't be a complete surprise (outside of one game).

This is true. I keep hoping that this year is going to be different but I'm probably kidding myself. The good news is, for most of the remaining games there is some hope:Midstate01;1382543 wrote:Yea minny. Not michigan. Minny always does this
@ MSU: Already beat the Spartans by double digits in Minneapolis
vs Illinois: Beat 'em by 17 on their own court
vs Wisconsin: Needed a last second shot (that maybe even didn't get off) to win at home against the Gophers
@ Iowa: 1-0 against them this year ... but it wasn't a pretty 1-0.
@ Ohio State: Almost certainly not going to happen
vs Indiana: Almost certainly not going to happen
vs Penn State: They will win this
@ Nebraska: They almost certainly will win this too
@ Purdue: Who knows which Purdue team shows up
Basically, I can see the Gophers finishing 5-4 over their last 9 and finishing 22-9 (10-8). It's not good based on what everyone thought they could be 3 games into the B1G schedule, but it's certainly not going to be truly bad.
I hope.
Oh god I hope.

Does Iowa have a chance tonight in Madison? Or am I just clinging to my prediction they would surprise and finish 6th in the B1G? lol
