Are Syracuse's fans normally pretty quiet? Boeheim with a minor shot there. Haha. I have always found the Carrier Dome to be one of the louder and better venues to watch a basketball game be played in.

They're not normally quiet. LOL. I think the Carrier Dome is a great venue even though I've never been to it. Been to 2 Syracuse games...both vs. Pittsburgh. One was at the Mellon Arena and the other at the Fitzgerald Field House. Watching a game in the Carrier Dome is on my bucket list.

I'd put it on mine, too, actually. I've been to the Dean Dome, Joel-Coliseum, Breslin Center, Crisler and the Schottenstein Center and that is currently it for on-campus locations outside of Cameron. (Not counting MAC arenas.) Hinkle, Allen, Assembly Hall, Rupp, Carrier Dome, Pauley and the Thomas & Mack Center (when Vegas is good) are all places I'd really like to visit, but likely never will.killer_ewok;1345925 wrote:They're not normally quiet. I've been to Rupp.
Unfortunately, it was while staying in the Hyatt(I think) that is attached to it and no one was playing.

If I get a little cash, I may hit up the first weekend NCAA games this year. Lexington and Dayton are hosting sites.

BTW, I was going to ask. Who's up for the Pick'Em contest this year? We can do that and then transition into the player pick'em contest for the NCAA's.

Same here for me with the Dean Dome. Visited the arena in the summer of 2004 or so while in Durham for the Duke Camp. Sean May and Rashad McCants were in there shooting around. It was a really cool place. One of those buildings that you walk into and are immediately overcome with the feeling that great things have happened here. Am definitely going to try to make it to a Duke-Carolina game there one of these years.

Shit, now that you say that, I've been to CIS too. Summer of 96 "on the way" home from the Atlanta Olympics. We took the LONG way up the coast lol and stopped in Durham for my brother. They were reodoing ALL of the wood work around the place. We kind of snuck in a side door before getting kicked out lol. Been to the Dean Dome twice for games. I haven't been to Chapel Hill in years. I haven't been to many of the quintessential college towns, such as Austin, Charlottesville, or Athens (GA), but I just can't imagine a better place than The Hill. Really enjoyed it. Definitely get some drinks and something to eat at "Top of the Hill" if you do drop by Franklin Street. A cool night spot. Always tried to make it there when working at Duke for a couple of camps over the years. Chapel Hill, I hate to say it, is actually pretty cool at night. I traveled all the way to buttfuck Kansas to see a tour of AFH (okay it was really to visit my whore of an ex gf), and they had god damn 2 day renovations going on...I was there for 2 days.
Pissed me off. I could only see the lobby and cracks through the windows into the actual arena. Think I saw 1/8th of the 1988 National Championship banner. Rock chalk

Ive been to Assembly Hall a few times. Loudest place Ive been. Old RCA dome is a close second.

I've been to Cameron, amazing place. IMO the best place to watch a game in the B1G is the Breslin Center, that is the loudest crowd I've ever been apart of. Tough place to play a game

I went to rupp the year osu lost the title game. Saw the opening game and the Xavier game. Sound wise it was pretty good. But that was it. It has no feel of a basketball arena. You pull up and find out its inside some convention center and the I guess game feel just wasn't very good. I was pumped to go and see the place and was very disappointed.
Been in assembly hall but for a women's game. But I could def see how that place gets so loud.

Breslin is Cameron with an upperdeck. Same student placement and overall general feeling with the old roll out bleachers. At least that's how I felt when there. Probably even louder than Cameron due to the the way the sound bounces off the concrete walls. Only major difference is the historical feeling associated with Cameron. Like Allen Fieldhouse, Cameron is like an old-world basketball cathedral. Just from a completely different place in time.

lol at the womens game, but cool youve been to Assembly. Plus, they have nearly 8k students for each home game, which is the most in the country. When the students are on break, its 25% as loud lol.

We were at the same game! When the Spartans got on that run in the second half to bring it even with 3 minutes left I thought my ears were going to explode. My buddy went to iu. Funny thing about it was we just walked in. It was in the 2nd half, but they didn't ask for a ticket or anything. We just walked straight through. There couldn't have been 1,000 people in there. Not that'd I'd expect there to be.

They usually only lock the doors for Mens games and a few practices. You can almost always just walk in and hop around. I had a media pass for 3 years, but I never had it on me and would never get stopped walking down the offices to get to the Press Room.
