K-State really making a serious push at a #1...if they pull this off at OSU, wow. They would share the Big XII, despite being swept by KU.

The first one was right (OSU/ISU), but this one was wrong. I'll just throw it out of the standings. You won anyway

Gonzaga, barring getting upset by a community college at the WCC tourney, has locked in a one seed at this point. I think all Indiana and Duke have to do to lock up one seeds of their own is win their games this weekend against Michigan and North Carolina, respectively, and then not lose in the first round of their conference tournaments. That certainly seems simple enough, but both could easily lose too.
If the above teams do hold serve this weekend, though, I think the final number one seed will go to either Kansas or Georgetown. It gets really interesting if both Georgetown and Kansas win their conference tournaments.
Here's how they currently stack up:
Records: Kansas 26-4, Georgetown 23-5
RPI: Kansas 5, Georgetown 12
SOS: Kansas 27, Georgetown 34
Record versus AP Top 25: Georgetown 5-1, Kansas 4-1
Wins versus RPI Top 20: Georgetown 4 (Louisville, Marquette, Syracuse, Syracuse), Kansas 1 (Ohio State)
Worst losses: Kansas (TCU, RPI 236), Georgetown (South Florida, RPI 128)

KU wins another Big XII title. Impressive. Fitting, in a year where Missouri leaves, it takes a K-State choke to clinch it.

Marquette has a chance to win the Big East regular season and they are absolutely blowing it against St. John's. Marquette was up 9 with 2:00 left. It's tied with 22 seconds left.

LOL, Marquette had the last possession, turned it over and St. John's actually got off a final shot. Almost a crazy, crazy finish at MSG.

Coming into the week, Oregon had a game lead in the Pac 12 and only needed 1 win over Colorado or Utah to win the league.
They lost by 23 to CU, and are down by 16 late to Utah. Talk about a major choke. If Arizona wins today, the Ducks fall all the way to 4th in the seeding.

St. John's is an incredibly talented team. And they are doing this today without leading scorer De'Angelo Harrison or Sir'Dominic Pointer.
Steve Lavin has really underachieved with this team, just as he did with pretty much every team he had at UCLA. The Johnnies have Final Four quality talent, but no game plan.

Lehigh's season ends in the Patriot Semis. Just never had a chance without McCollum. Bucknell should win, but Lafayette just beat them a few weeks ago.

They were picked 10th in the Big East by the coaches. They're playing right about up to expectations.reclegend22;1403181 wrote:St. John's is an incredibly talented team. And they are doing this today without leading scorer De'Angelo Harrison or Sir'Dominic Pointer.

That just proves how deep the Big East is. 10 teams with Final 4 talent.Mulva;1403183 wrote:They were picked 10th in the Big East by the coaches. They're playing right about up to expectations.

Boise State is up 12 on SDSU. A win today would be big for their bubble chances.

Marquette wins at the buzzer in overtime. Great game.
St. John's falls to 16-14. Have to wonder how much longer Lavin will remain in Jamaica, Queens, especially with his health issues in recent years. St. John's hasn't made the NCAAs in the last two years now, despite an array of talent. It certainly hasn't been due to a lack of quality players. Eventually, simply "competing" won't be enough at a school with as rich a tradition as St. John's. Same thing happened at UCLA, although to be fair, coaching in Westwood is entirely different animal.

I realize that Lavin missed most of last year, but still. His career has proven that he is a great recruiter, but the results on the floor are just never there when it comes to postseason play.

In the wtf stat of the day, if that lead holds, TCU will have as many Top 50 wins as Kentucky. Unfortunately for the Horned Frogs, they lost pretty much every other game.

Colorado loses at home to Oregon State. Pac TweLOLve.
New Mexico and Air Force tied 47-47 at half.
Detroit and Wright State tied at half. I'd like to see the Titans make the tournament.
Really looking forward to this OVC title game.

If there ever was a must-win scenario, it's Baylor against Kansas. It feels like the Bears should have as many losses as the 1973 76ers. Every time I have watched them this year, they've lost. I can't believe they are still even being talked about haha.

Wright State is up on Detroit by a few right now. They are sucking all of the air out of the ball. I think they'll run out of gas and lose, though.

Even winning tonight, Baylor probably needs to get to the B12 finals to have a realistic shot.
