Do you know how the NBA works? TT is a future all-star and so is Waiters. Waiters is a rookie remember. Sorry that you are hoodwinked into media generated super stars(I'm looking at you Jimmy Harden). Waiters, Irving, TT are the core of the future and will win a championship, especially when Lebron comes back and Irving carries him to a title.

I don't think it's that outlandish if the Cavs could get to the top of the East. Bosh made it this year with 17 and 7.5, because the Heat are in first place. TT is averaging 15 and 11 this month.

Sounds kinda like what was said about Hickson on here in terms of AS potential. I admittedly havent watched much of TT this year aside from a few games, guess I just wasnt overly impressed by him to regard him as having AS potential. Could be wrong

Id probably put him in the Faried, Hickson,Vucevic category of solid PF's not really AS caliber, at least at this time

I hope you're right on TT, I just don't see it. And they are on pace for a 23 and 59 record with this “core of the future," so I'd argue that point. I love waiters and TT and even Zeller, but I don't want the Cavs to shy away from adding the next big thing based on these guys. I just think every position on the current roster besides PG is upgradable, that's all.

It takes time for talent to translate to wins. Durants first two years his teams were terrible

All of their starters have less than 2 years experience in the league. Come again?

In the month of January, only three guys are averaging more points and boards per game than TT. Cousins, Howard, and Vucevic. There is no power forward who has played better in both categories this month. Not bad for a guy considered "raw" and has had just over a full season of NBA experience. Jesus, dont comment on how good somebody is or isnt if you dont watch the Cavs or no nothing about basketball.

I never said he was bad at all, just that Idk if Id consider him all star potential. But you're right I "no" nothing about basketball.
And one month stretches clearly mean a player has AS potential. Like Linsanity

I think he was referring to Clefailnomicallyspeaking, but glad to see you're sensitive about the subject. How are "your" hawks doing?

I see what you did there, since I like the Falcons I must be a hawks fan too. You're clever

My post was directed to a few people. You in the part of not watching the Cavs, CLEconomically in the part of not knowing* basketball. Since he says we are doomed because the core isnt making the playoffs in their second season. Thompson has been playing great since Andy has went down. If he continues this way, he definitely has AS potential, especially in an Eastern Conference with weak/aging big men. He is looking to be the best player in the 2011 draft outside of Kyrie (although Vucevic is looking to be a steal, but is a few years older). Everybody knew Jeremy Lin was just a flash in the pan.

I know exactly who Clefailnomicallyspeaking is...he's the Cleveland fan who screams how the Browns rule the city, only watches the Indians or Cavs when they're good, and when they're bad preaches about how this is a Browns town and those two teams are just bad and unwatchable.

TT plays on a horrible team though, its hard to judge a player who puts up good numbers on a horrible team generally. I was unaware he was one of a few big men averaging the double double in the month of January though. Aside from Klay, Tristan, Faried and Vucevic though, that 2011 class was pretty abysmal, so looking good compared to the rest of them isnt really hard to do.

Guess Kyrie is bad then too, since he plays on a bad team. We can only judge players from now on who play in LA, Boston, or NY guys.

Didnt say that, but SOMEONE has to put up numbers on a bad team. Kyrie obviously is the real deal and is a damn good player however. And LA and Boston are not good teams ....nice fail

TT is playing great for the year at 11/9 and as mentioned about 15/11 for the month. I know you aren't the biggest Cavs fan but if you saw earlier this season he was downright terrible. RCF was blowing up calling him a bust amongst other choice names.

However he's really turned it on as of late. He's a smart/athletic player that is starting to develop an offensive game. But a major knock on TT was he was weak. Plays like the rebound and dunk yesterday (link below) shows me he's learning and getting stronger. If that video was from last year he'd have been too slow getting back up for the dunk or taken the ball to his waist and gotten it stripped. At only 21 he's still got room to grow and you can definitely see he's developing this year.

Pair him with an Alex Len or Isaiah Austin and I think that can be a deadly combo. Their ability to shoot from 18 feet will keep center's from playing off of them. And then TT will have an open lane to take his guy off the dribble and drive to the lane. Their play would complement each other very well.

As far as the Oden subject, I believe the contracts of Gibson, Walton, Speights, Ellington, and Selby all expire at the end of this season. There are also players on the roster like Casspi and Kevin Jones. The Cavs have to meet the salary floor, and are already far under the cap as it is. They have to spend money. The reward could, and that is a big COULD, be exponential compared to the risk (basically nothing when looking at the Cavs situation).

Weren't most Cavs fans bashing TT earlier this year when he wasn't productive saying that he wasn't what they though he was gonna be? Or am I imagining that?
