Going to cool seeing Lebron and Irving on the floor together at the all-star game.

The Cavs have to have the youngest starting team in the NBA. Zeller and Waiters are rookies and TT and KI are 2nd year players.

And they are all playing well. How pissed would we be if we drafted Austin river lol

Plus Kyrie and TT were one and dones. Their biggest improvement will likely come between years 4 and 5.sleeper;1374913 wrote:The Cavs have to have the youngest starting team in the NBA. Zeller and Waiters are rookies and TT and KI are 2nd year players.

Not as cool as when they both play on the Cavs team in 2014. Bron will bring Rudy Gay with him too.sleeper;1374910 wrote:Going to cool seeing Lebron and Irving on the floor together at the all-star game.

Great game last night! Speights is going to be a great addition to this team, I wouldnt be surprised if he's starting over Zeller in the near future.
Kyrie, TT and Dion all played very good games. If Dion can make a jump in his 2nd year the way that Trsitan did this team could very fun to watch in the future.

Glad to see Speights is playing well, I was pretty pumped about his addition. ESPN is reporting though that the Cavs may ship him out again in a trade before the deadline.

Yea I believe the Cavs arent done making moves. We already have so many picks stocked up, its crazy. Though some may not work out in our favor (Lakers missing the playoffs).

I would like to keep him around to see what he can do with some heavy minute.

I would hate to trade him. He really fits a need with the cavs.

It sounds like Boobie and Casspi will probably be traded as well.
I'll pack Casspi's bags for him but I'd be sad to see Boobie go

If we want to keep Speights, we will probably have to end up paying him. I believe his contract expires after this season with an option for 2014. Depends if he wants to stay with us (possibility) and how much flexibility Grant wants to give up to keep him.

You're right, Grant is stashing cash away for the big FA class in a couple years

I think I read his option is 4.5 mill

Same here but if we can add some more assets for his expiring contract I wouldn't hesitate trading him. Also, I'd like to see Ellington stick on the team. Seems capable to play a similar role and he's not undersized.KR1245;1375097 wrote:It sounds like Boobie and Casspi will probably be traded as well.

Unless we get a 1st rounder for him, no thanks on trading him. He fits nicely.Commander of Awesome;1375060 wrote:Glad to see Speights is playing well, I was pretty pumped about his addition. ESPN is reporting though that the Cavs may ship him out again in a trade before the deadline.

What's his ceiling? Could he be another Andy v? Injury history? Could he be a starter on a top 5-6 team?

He isn't even close to the same type of player as Varejao.gport_tennis;1375116 wrote:What's his ceiling? Could he be another Andy v? Injury history? Could he be a starter on a top 5-6 team?

I think they'll evaluate him (on more than just 1 game) with the team. If he fits like he seems he's going to, they'll pay him. If he's just going to be a decent guy to come off the bench, they'll try and trade him. My opinion

Speights Contract is $4.5 mil and the Cavs are very close to salary cap floor. We have to spend some money, which makes shipping him out make even less sense.

[/h][h=5]David Thorpe of Scouts INC and ESPN rates Waiters the top scorer among all NBA rookies:
Best scorer: Dion Waiters, Cavaliers
A scorer is someone who can create his own points, not just rely on others to get him open and then make uncontested shots. This is a weak class of scorers, but Waiters has proved he can put up big numbers when he gets rolling. He is the best in this class, but still has a long way to go to be both a productive and efficient scorer on a consistent basis.
Waiters has the requisite athletic, physical and ball skills to be a terrific partner to Kyrie Irving. They could form the most potent set of scoring guards in the league if Waiters figures out how to play the right way.
Runner-up: Lillard
The Blazers have a decent offense, but only because Lillard is not just trying to get the ball to his veteran teammates. He is always on the lookout for his own shot, able to get buckets inside and make open perimeter shots.[/h]

the bolded is the key. right now, him and kyrie play the same way lebron and wade did in their first year together - basically taking turns going one on one.like_that;1375171 wrote:Terry Pluto

also would like to see the cavs pick up the option on speights and not trade him. don't really see the downside in doing so - especially with them needing to spend to get to the floor

Speights with another good game and of course once again Kyrie fucking balls out.
