After today's low energy, lack of tackling display I am thinking he might be coaching at Upper Arlington next year.

I have to start leaning on Fickell here a bit myself. These same players from last year didn't forget how to tackle overnight, so it has to be the schemes and the angles they're taking, along with the obvious lack of emphasis being placed on wrapping up the ball carrier. This is on the coaches, period.

You claiming the defense knew how to tackle last year? I mean come on, we really think here that the coaches arent emphasizing proper tackling? My little little D6 high school coaches emphasized tackling, went over pursuit angles, etc.

You can lead a horse to water...but...

They look the same as they did last year....

Does it look like it to you? The last three weeks have been carbon copies of one another, so if they are indeed emphasizing proper tackling, they're doing a poor job....IMO.

I think they look worse, IMO.

I think you're just blacking out last year, if we're comparing equal points of the season. The defense was abysmal against Toledo and Miami to start last year.

How about being shut out by UAB 9 minutes into the second qtr? Its not fickell's problem anymore, but still alarming.

Fickell will get zero looks at being a head coach at any serious program aiming for the BCS. Maybe at a mid-major level. Maybe. He'd better first concern himself with keeping
his present gig with Urban Meyer.

I said before the season I wanted nothing to do with Fickell because I could see his organization and leadership skills last year. I got a lot of angry replies when I said I preferred Withers being DC and Fickell being LB coach / honorary Asst. HC

I'm not sold on Withers either, but time will tell.

I can see Fickell getting a head coaching job at a mid-major FBS school or an FCS school.
