I was at the Bengals-Steelers play-off game when Chris Henry caught the 68 yard pass from Palmer (who was subsequently cheap shotted).

My dad is a huge Bengals fan, and that was one of the happiest times I can remember having with him.

RIP Chris. You're in a far better place now.

It's probably not the right time for this, and I'm not one to judge anyone. But why is it that when someone passes, people say, "You're in a better place now"? I understand people being spiritual, but if you are spiritual, do you not believe in a Heaven and a Hell? Or just a Heaven? Or do you think Chris Henry was a good person with a good heart?

I don't mean this as a bash in anyway, I've always wondered this, and thought I'd ask (might be deserving of it's own thread).

It's funny how people can dislike other peoples personalities on here (can't really hate the person unless you know them personally) and I haven't really agreed w/ anything Sage has said most of the time ... But still stories like this doesn't make the trivial things matter. Great story Sage and that made me smile.

He had the physical skills to go down as one of the all-time great WRs, had he not gone astray so many times. His off the field shit has zero to do with that.

Are you really THAT mentally impaired to believe that any US Marine killed in Afghanistan doesn't impact our entire country? And in any way shape or form try to compare one of their deaths with this bozo? I hope you never have to meet one of those Marine's families.

In all honesty does anyone really care? Unless your a Bengals or Henry fan do you really care? Its sad and I feel bad for the children but will this cause you to miss work today? When I think of a tragedy I think of 9/11, Pearl Harbor, a roller coaster going off the track etc. Sean Taylor was more of a tragedy than this. Any person knows that it is not smart to ride in the back of a pick up truck when the person driving is mad at you. Prayers go out to his family and I pray that his kids grow to be great people who can enjoy life.

It is mainly a tragedy because of HIS FAMILY. You have to feel bad for them--they lost a loved one.

But believe it or not, he also added to this world in the form of entertainment. You don't think people appreciated his on-the-field performance and got enjoyment out of it? That will be missed. Of course, it is not important as what he meant to his family, but he still provided enjoyment for thousands/millions.

I think that is a good point. Nobody actually cares about the death of a person unless it impacts them personally.

While Henry's death is sad, it really has no bearing on my life. I'm not going to around with fake sympathy and post his number with RIP all over the place.

It's sad, but I probably won't think about it past tomorrow. This is the way with most deaths.
