If it's not Apple I don't want it because this runs Windows it'll probably get viruses. I've had my Mac for years and no problems but my PC has nothing but problems like 2 viruses every few months FUCK DELL!!!!!!!!!!

I understand you don't like Apple but they are a great technology company and they happen to have an even better marketing department. Could they be overpriced on some of their products? The market seems to think not. They make wonderful hardware and good software. For me, I can't stand the smugness.

Sorry but no. Apple computers aren't better than their counterparts. You pay more for less power; that's called marketing.

Sleeper, you obviously don't understand specs. Apple computers are powerful enough because the software is designed for the hardware. That's not the case with Windows machines. You have several different manufacturers making computers with several different versions of Windows on the market.

It's the reason why a less powerful MacBook can play a game like Diablo 3 or run high end photo/video editing software better than a PC that is slightly better spec wise.

Bullshit. My Mac users at work are always screaming for more RAM.

You clearly have never used both a MAC and a PC. The PC does everything the MAC does and is cheaper. The Mac looks cooler though, I guess it has that going for it.

People pay Apple a premium for their huge marketing budget, which helps to reinforce their decision to pay more for less. Kind of a nice symbiotic relationship.

On the IPad's and IPhone's, they are still as high-end as Android at the time of launch, but because they only launch once a year they fall behind over the course of the next 12 months. But as those markets become commoditized, they'll continue to get a premium because people get entrenched and it becomes too costly to switch. The Android mfrs don't have that luxury because people can so easily switch to another Android device and take all their apps with them.

And all of that is fine with Apple. They don't really want or expect to capture most of a commoditized market, but just the top 25% or so that will pay their premium.

The bottom line, for both sides, is that if you have a superiority complex based on the platform you use you are a complete douche. It's a computer. Who gives a shit?

I understand you're trolling, but you clearly don't know what you're talking about. When I was pricing laptops I built a ThinkPad with the same specs at the i7 MBP. They were within $100 of each other and both very solid machines.

This is coming from a Mac AND PC user....yes they exist.

As for the OP. The MS tablet has potential, especially with the ability to integrate with desktop software. For their sake, lets hope it fares better than the Zune.

Lol yea, ok. If that's the case, why don't they buy more fucking ram?

You think PC users don't "scream for RAM?"

Not biased towards one product or the other. I use both

Pay more by how much? Like I said, the pricing gap isn't very large. It's a common misconception. I'm surprised you didn't already know that.

I'm basing this solely on laptops though. No one really gives a shit about desktops anymore.

New MBP
15 inch display
2.6 ghz i7 quad core processor
8gb ram
750gb HD

Price: $2,199

New Dell Inspiron
15 inch display
3.1 ghz i7 quad core processor
8gb ram
1 TB HD

Price: $1,099

So, how does that feel to be ruined? $1,100 price difference, no big deal.

lol...you're comparing that to a DELL.

The new MBP is high that's for damn sure.

Compare the regular MBP line to a loaded Asus or thinkpad. Then try the Zenbooks w/ the Air models. The difference isn't much.

The problem is....Mac doesn't have an every level computer. You can get PCs all over the place with i5 processors for 500.....Mac doesn't have cheap builds.

We do buy them more RAM. And yes, PC users do too. My point is Mac hardware isn't superior as you claim.

You're right, but that's not their style. Same with the phones, 3 versions of the same phone, annual release, still killin it.

I agree though, 2k+ for a laptop is insane.

There was a time when the build quality between Mac laptops and PCs wasn't too close, besides Lenovo IMO. If you haven't figured it out I love thinkpads.

But lately they the competition has stepped it up with better cases, hardware, etc. Asus is another brand that makes nice stuff. Even though they have gotten better, I still won't give props to Dell. F that company.
