Santana has so much potential. It really pisses me off to see his batting average so low. He's so good at drawing walks and working the count. He has pretty good power, but his swing is so long right now. I don't understand how he can be in such a prolonged slump without any coaching?

I dont get Santana not getting any coaching either. That swing is WAY to long.

IBB walking the #8 hitter to pitch to the pitcher...
Strategy. Of course, with as wild as Gomez is, he'll either walk him or give up another BS hit.

agreed. He is not sharp at all. Cincy def isn't the most powerful lineup in the world, but he is still playing with fire.hoops23;1197244 wrote:I have no idea how Gomez has only given up 1.

Who was slobbing Gomez to start the year?

I dont think he sucks. He is serviceable. But, thats about all any of our pitchers are, unfortunately.

Man, the Reds really remind me of the Minnesota teams that were decent. They have good pitching and defense...but don't pass the eye test for playoff time. The Tribe reminds me of the Tribe team of last year...they don't have shit and will be out of it when Detroit catches fire...lmao

Yeah, I said he sucks out of frustation. serviceable is about as good as I'd go. He can be "good" at times, but he lacks good stuff.Laley23;1197275 wrote:Footwedge.

Carlos Carrasco is being missed right now. He started to come along late last year and pitched some gems. He has some filthy stuff, but of course he is on the shelf after Tommy John surgery.

Typical Reds, they're terrible at getting runs in. Its very frustrating to watch night after night. Great pitcher or bad pitcher they'll get runners on, but RARELY put up a big inning.wes_mantooth;1197266 wrote:agreed. He is not sharp at all.
