I've lived in this house for seven years and just realized I have a "garbage disposer" and not a "garbage disposal". Wtf? I've been calling it the wrong name my nearly my whole life. Am I the only one?

I assume it's a trademarked name and others might say disposal on them. Next time my wife says "Honey the garbage disposal is backed up" I'm gonna say "GFY we don't have one of those." LOL. I guess it makes perfect sense. I'm just dumb.

I knew a guy named Fred when I was younger (well I didn't really know him per se) who, instead of a traditional disposal, had a stone sink with a hole and a pig that that lived under his counter who would eat the thrown-away food. I've never seen anything like it. Crazy.

As an Asian, I'm offended by that picture. said_aouita may have something to add about that, as well.

Lol I'm never serious. So, no, I'm not Asian. Sorry, I thought you got the joke and was asking if I seriously made that joke.

But, yes there was a guy named Fred who had that. It'll come to you. He also had a wooly mammoth outside of his bathroom that he used as a shower. How about now? ;)

That was one you had to work for. :)

Had Fred been using a dinosaur, you would have gotten it right away. And, fwiw, that came to me halfway thru the thread. I didnt post about my disposaler just to make that joke.
