I was going through account and it seems I average between 200 - 400 MB's of data a month... Not even close to 1 GB. Of course, as I previously stated, I'm usually on a Wi-fi network.

I don't think Verizon is out to do us any favors, if anything they are out to screw us. Right now I pay $30 a month for unlimited (the most gb i have use was 20 the least was about 2). The 20gb was when they were offering the free hotspot when 4g was brand new and fast. So I most likely will get a family plan where I will have to share 6-8 gb a month with my wife for $60. They are not doing me any favors.

I hardly use anything with my phone. So, I wouldn't be concerned when I upgrade. Besides, I'm still on an Alltel contract.

However, my aircard is still unlimited. And I am NOT about to upgrade and lose that. I use about 15-25 GB a month. Even with the 10GB plan, I'd still be using well over and be paying $100+ more a month.

Not surprised by this. I've stayed on my moms plan just to keep my unlimited data but I've only gone over 2gigs once. Normally I'm around 1gig.

I know it says "everyone"

But it says everyone on a 3G plan. What if you have already upgraded to the 4G LTE "plan" ??? I don't see anything about that...

Shammo said that LTE will be the anchor for the new plan and that as customers upgrade from 3G to LTE, they will have to be on a data share plan, allowing the company to sunset its unlimited 3G data plan. "A lot of our 3G base is on unlimited," Shammo said. "When they migrate off 3G they will have to go to data share. That is beneficial to us."

Just wording but sounds like everything going to teired and family shared type buckets of data.

That still doesn't answer my question.

In February, I upgraded to the LG Spectrum, which is a 4G LTE phone. Everything on my service or whatever "upgraded." So does that mean I will be able to keep my plan the way it is?

They can't take away your unlimited data unless you are renewing a contract.

They can't just up and change your plan without you signing anything, it's a breach of contract.

This is a ploy for them to make an extra buck off of all of the iTards who will upgrade to the presumably LTE iPhone this fall

I think until your contract is up you should be on the same plan, so you'll have a little under 2 years of unlimited.

I do believe though that they can, and are, throttling the speeds for those who are still on the unlimited plan after they get past 2gb.

I got out of working at ATT after 12 years and I know a decent amount of time before I got out they started to slow down speeds for those who still had unlimited, and had said verizon did the same. THink SPrint is the only one that doesnt. Do not know how much they slow it down though

Sprints speeds are throttled to begin with. One of the reasons I left them.

My issue with this is I have a 4G LTE phone, but where I live and where I most often travel I am unable to pick up the 4G service. If I am using 3G 95% of the time why should I be punished by eliminating my unlimited data coverage?

You'll have your current plan until the next time you go in and buy a phone from Verizon at a discounted price (meaning you'd be signing a new contract). If you purchase a phone from ebay or craigslist, it will not affect your contract status and not change your plan. If you buy a phone full price from VZW, it won't affect your contract status and not change your plan.

I know what you are saying wildcats. Since you've already got a 4G phone and have it unlimited, it shouldn't change. But it will. The system will require a plan change when you go to upgrade, and the plan change will be to the new data plan.

Cell phone data being transmitted is almost at capacity and all available capacity will be eaten up by the end of this year. What do you do when supply go no longer go up? You raise prices.

Expect to see Data plans go from $30 a month to $50 a month. Book it, bank it.
