Okay maybe I'm missing something but if people wanted to continue to pick on a mod or board member, LJ's knowledge, Sleeper's Ipad2s, etc, they could still do so in the basement, correct? So its not as if they cannot continue their usual schtick, they're just curtailed in where they can do it.

Justin, why is saying LJ is an expert a violation? It's not a personal attack worthy of an infraction (there are a lot worse things said), so if it's said on a thread that's already spun out of control, wheres the infraction?

Yeah, but if in the course of a thread an opportunity to make a sweet joke about LJ the creator or sleeper the troll comes up going to the basement to do it seems ridiculous.

That would be perfectly fine in the basement. The point of the basement is to give people an area to be idiots if they want to.
