That really is pathetic. I understand both sides of the scenario, but it sounds like a couple of the officers were honestly just looking for something to do.

There clearly was no threat. It sounded like one of the officers/agents was looking for trouble.

Either side acting more reasonably could have stopped this from escalating. In my opinion, it should be the authorities who should be more inclined to stop situations from escalating as that should be in their training. The whole thing sounded poorly managed.

I could only make it through 3 min before getting too annoyed at how big of douchebags those officers were. I've been to Canada many times and have been harassed twice but not that bad. A friend was once told he couldn't come into Canada because he had 2 McDonald's bags on the floor of the car. He had to go and throw them away and comeback.

Listen to the exchange between 6 minutes and 8 minutes where the supposed threat comes in.

My girlfriends dad was held at the border for 7 hours because he had just bought his Harley and it had 30 day tags. They thought he stole it. They wouldnt call his insurance agent for proof they had to contact the direct dealership who was closed before they would let him go. He is a high powered lawyer and had to use his connections in DC before they finally let him out of detainment.

I agree.

Generally law enforcement personnel are supposed to keep a situation under control (keep it from escalating). I think they did a very poor job of that in this audio clip.

Also, they stop 3 terrorists a day from crossing the border? That dude spit that number out pretty quick. I'm calling bullshit on that too.

Last time I crossed the border coming from the casino in Windsor, wife and I were talked down to really bad by the border patrol. Kept asking me why the casinos in Detroit was not good enough for me. My response was it was none of his business if I went to MGM or Casino Windsor. I never broke any laws, had up to date pass ports for both, wife and I, and if I wanted to cross over the river to gamble I had that right. The border patrol then went into the spin of how ungratefull I was towards the very people that protect me from the terrorism of the world. My response.....I apologize and that when my sBorder Patrol response...you may go siron returned from Iraq, I would tell him that he really is not the one fighting the war on terrorism...the border patrol was.........Border Patrol response..."You may go sir"

Both sides were being assholes but the Canadian was the lesser asshole, IMO. The question that started the whole thing was ridiculous. "What stores?" Seriously, guy? It's a mall. I would've probably had the same reaction as the Canadian.

Moral of the story...when going thru border security, confine your remarks to yes, sir, ...no m'am...and don't say anything sarcastic. Answer the questions as politely as possible.

Perhaps I don't like paying for douches like the one guy in this thing to ask about specifically which stores in a mall people are going to. You know, fuck that guy for wanting to spend money in the US right?

In related news all the TSA people I dealt with going through security ten minutes ago were very pleasant. Well done PIT.

Lol @ detaining someone for giving you a supposed smartass answer. How about you do your job and detain people that actually need detaining and refrain from being an asshole?

I go to Caesars Windsor several times a year and have never had any problems. One time I was pulled over for random inspection going into Canada and they opened my trunk before I moved on. I always spend more time trying to get back to the US with the US Border Patrol than the Canadians. Agree with the previous poster, just be polite, say ma'am and sir and you won't have problems.

I can't believe anyone is actually siding with the Canadian man. The whole thing would have been avoided if he answered the questions instead of giving a fuck head response to authorities like "why does it matter". It matters b/c he fuckin asked you you dipshit. You're not smart, or tough, or whatever else you think you are. They've seen a million others assholes like you too. Answer the questions and move on.
