Big hit for Votto to tie the game and pick up Stubbs and Cozart. I think that great 13-14 pitch AB he had got him on a good track.

Almost a good thing he didn't get the bunt down. Because if he does, then Cozart k's, they are surely intentionally walking votto.

Very good point. Maybe Dusty was counting on Stubbs to beat it out, no matter if they got an out out somewhere else or not.

Yesterday Bruce with two big 2 RBI hits, and today Votto the same, and now Bruce a HR to put the Reds in position to need just 3 outs to win it.

Rodriguez not getting many calls from the ump on Rolen or Stubbs.

But he gets both Stubbs and Cozart on challenge Ks deep in the count. Stubbs let the most hit-able pitch, the 1-1, pass by without swinging and Cozart fouled his off on the 2-1.

That was a big play to help Marshall's "get back on the horse" opportunity, that he had to wait 3 days for, be successful to take the series.

If they can take the Cubs series they will be in good shape. No Cueto but also no Garza for the Cubbies. Dempster making his first start since a DL trip.

Reds key lefty hitters looking good right now, as needed. I think that 13-14 pitch AB by Joey was key to his progression, and Bruce's 2 run double right down the left field line was key to him to see some rewards for going that way and to help him keep uppermost in his mind how important it is for him to think opposite field.

Everyone rep Azubuike for showing restraint in starting the game thread.
