Doesn't matter if the games are divisional or non-divisional. The Browns have 3 playoff teams in their division. No other team in the NFL could say that after last season. Yet you don't think those games should "count"? It's almost comical how bad you are at this...

Check the opponents W-L record. 6th best overall winning % in the league last year. Your "weak schedule" argument has absolutely ZERO merit.

I'm sorry BR, just don't buy that. That seems to be an argument that could be made for any play that doesn't work. Its not execution's fault when the opponent knows the next 3 play calls that Shurmur is going to call.

As for the draft, I refer to the previous sentence. When you are not a rebuilding team, you have a lot more freedom to draft for value (BPA) as opposed to drafting for "needs-based value". Playoff caliber teams are generally desirable destinations. Thus, free agents are more willing to sign there and players are more willing to STAY. This creates fewer NEEDS and allows the team to upgrade positions as opposed to filling holes through the draft. Again, I admit wholeheartedly that the Browns were awful last year, and basically have been since they returned, but based on their position, they had a pretty solid draft.
Ravens did last year and the Bengals did it 2009. Must not be that difficult.

I just don't understand it. YOU KNOW YOUR WRS HAVE SUCKED. Why not improve them, even slightly? Even if it's adding Jones from Houston, that's a HUGE improvement and shows everyone that you at least acknolwedge the fact that our WR core needs help.

I don't give a shit how successful Holmgren or Shurmur or whoever was before they were here with no stud WRs. The best teams have good WRs, how about you look at that Holmgren?

Just because it has happened twice in the last 3 years, doesn't mean it wasn't difficult for the team to do it. It is quite a feat. Not surprised that went over your head though.

We are still waiting on your fail response regarding the defense/easy schedule. Typical failhook tactic to try to change the subject when you are getting pwned with facts.

Might want to take that up with Shawn Lauvao since he was tipping off the plays for opponents.

My guess leaning forward heavily on his hand for a run, and lightly touching the ground with his hand on a pass. Many ways a RG can tip off a play. Once an LBer figures it out, he can key on that RG all day and have a pwn day.

First of all just let me state that I hate the Browns. Now that we have that out of the way......

I don't think they had a terrible draft. I do think that the Weeden pick is just terrible. Just because he may be a slight upgrade it does not justify the pick. There are very few quarterbacks that come in a rip it up early. Look at who's done that recently. Cam Newton did it with unbelievable athleticism and a guy named Steve Smith. Matt Ryan had a good rookie year with Roddy White. As a Bengal fan, Andy Daulton was way above average last season but I know that a lot of that was how great A.J. Green was.

From a fan of another team, who hears a lot about the Browns, (My father-in-law is a huge Browns fan) I just don't see any type of plan for the passing attack in a league that centers around that part of the game. As it stands now, the corners in the division (Jimmy Smith, Lardarius Webb, Leon Hall (if healthy) Terrance Newman, Pacman Jones, Dre Kirkpatrick, Ike Taylor among others) can matchup without needing help against the joke of a receiver core the Browns put out there. This leaves the safety's to cover the tight ends and leaves the linebackers in the box and will cause problems for Richardson. I just don't feel like they have given Weeden much to work with and even if he develops, I can't see him playing more than 5-6 years. I takes an unreal talent and a special offensive line to keep a quarterback effective into his late 30's.
