At the end of the year you tally the wins and the losses...nobody cares that win #9 was against the A's rather than the Yankees. I hate to see the manager tank a game that he could have won just to rest guys who really haven't been worked all that hard to begin with. It doesn't take a genius to realize that when you create a black hole at the bottom of the lineup, you are not going to score many runs.

I was just relaying what Manny said about sitting guys. I don't have a problem with days off, it's these "everyone gets the day off" games I don't like.

Exactly. It is almost like they are conceding a loss before the game starts

They are awful. Especially considering Asdrubal was out. Way too many players getting a day off. If you want a 2 day off thing, go half today and half Wednesday. Anything is better than half the team sits and we have 6 automatic outs lol.

Lou Marson is awful. Oakland had 5 SB's today if I heard correctly...

Santana has been throwing guys out from his knees.

Not that we needed any confirmation that the Cliff Lee trade was horrible.

But Kyle Drabek, who was the pitcher MOST thought we were after (not Carrasco) is off to a great start for Toronto this year.

2-0, 2.00 ERA, 15 Ks (10BBs).

Though his last season (rookie year, about 80 innings) was a bit rough numbers wise. Ive seen him throw twice this season, and it pains me to say it, but he just looks better than Carrasco. Which is what I thought at the time of trade, and was afraid of.

Just got home and failwedge still doesn't understand percentiles.

It's very simple. Percentiles are based on a 100 count group of number blocks. If you have less than 100 variables, then each variable is worth more than 1 block. If you have more than 100 count then each variable is less than 1 block. Since footwedge is stupid I'll also say that 100 variables means each is worth 1 block.

If Drew Pomeranze is ranked 6th in a 25 person ranking, each variable (rank) carries a number block (i.e. percentile) count of 4. There were 19 people below him, so 19 x 4 equals 76 number blocks (percentiles) below him.

What my signature says is what footwedge said. What this post says is how percentiles are calculated. Footwedge: you still can't comprehend it, and the fact that everyone is backing me here and not you should tell you how stupid you are.

Yeah, I mean I think CC could be a solid #3 or #4 guy if he returns healthy because he was pitching pretty solid towards the end of last season.

However, when you trade a pitcher like Lee who was still under contract for 1.5 years, you better get the best fucking prospect in that system.
