I dont think ya can blame dusty for this offense being so bad.

About the only two guys that have done anything are VOtto and Cozart.

I know it is popular to bash dusty, or any manager really, but man this problem is much bigger than him.

Stubbs....thought during ST that he may have had the light bulb come on but he is striking out around his usual pace.

BP got hurt the night before they announced his deal and last night failed to get the bunt down. I dont know if it was a called sac bunt but if it was then his effort was piss poor. If he was doing it on his own, trying to bunt for a hit or at the very least getting the runners over then that is a diff story.

I will say this though....I can see them not hesitating to dumping Baker though. I think they give the team a little bit more time to get out of the slump. Every player goes into a slump, and sometimes a number of guys have it at the same time so he will get a little time.

but i hope not a whole lot.

Clearly the management is set on winning. That's evident by the Votto and BP contracts and the moves made in the off season. I think Dusty will be on a very short leash if this continues.

Yeah, and with this being the last year of his deal I think there isnt much $$ to throw out the window.

If he does get fired...I could see this team getting hot. Not because of a new manager, but because the team has talent, and I think a shakeup would be the perfect boot in the ass to the players. I dont know.........has he been there long enough for them to just tune him out? Usually it takes longer for a coach/manager it to happen but maybe this team needs a new voice

For a few second I wondered if this was like back to 1999 when they lost to the Mets in a one game playoff. Did this team just play past its potential 2 years ago? As fans have we severly over estimated this team?

There are some holes...like a bona fide 4 hole guy..of which I would like to see Bruce there. I think this is totally different than back then though. I think this team has a ton more talent and not just a flash in the pan like the 99 team

The thing that gets me is, it's the same stuff every year. Poor plate approaches, the inability to add on runs when they have a lead, extended slumps by the same players, terrible bullpen management. I would like to see what Meso could do in the cleanup spot where he would actually get some good pitches to hit.

My lineup would be.

Phillips
Cozart
Votto
Meso
Bruce
Rolen
Ludwick/Heisey
Stubbs

I dont know about Meso in the 4 hole. He really hasnt shown that he can hit in that pressure packed spot, PLUS I see Hanigan to continue to get more starts than him so ya would have to jumble up the lineup more often.

I wouldnt mind seeing bruce in the 4 hole. I know it goes against what DB wants to do....but Votto hits lefties very well so why not
