But I can understand if that changes based on draft stock and other things. There really isn't tremendous upside in his game. Coming back could only teams figure him out even more. But then again, I wouldn't be surprised if Sully want to face on the challenge of bringing home a title. And if he comes back, along with Thomas........watch out!
No upside to his game? He's pretty solid lol. I really think coming back with another big on the floor and an outside threat would help boost his stock a lot by allowing him to focus on a short jumper. His post play could benefit from not having the D collapse and help him to figure out that he doesn't have to take the extra couple dribbles and back the guy down, just take it up. None of that was possible with the way Thad played the guys this year, not knocking it, it was the best shot we had at bringing one home, but depending on how things would be run next year were he to return I could see his stock rise quite a bit.

If he's not even in the talks of any of these sites, I'd say there is little chance he will get drafted. Some are even updated after his run in the tourney. I remember people did this with Buford after his soph season. Everyone just assumed he would be drafted if he went pro, but no site even had him listed. Yet everyone kept ignoring that.
You can use that and those mocks as mug as you want, and they are a good source of data. I still think he will leave and I think he will be first rounder. Do they mot list him cause they assume he will stay? Kid has first round talent, I don't see how he slips to round 2 if he comes out.

Led the nation in FG%. Played better than Anthony Davis in both match-ups. Carried IU down the stretch and in the tourney. Is near 80% FT shooter. Runs the floor better than any big in nation outside his brother. Was the single biggest factor in Indiana going from 12 to 27 wins (how does crean kit win COY btw???).

The only thing I think he can have criticism of is rebounding. Other than that, what isn't impressive?

If he declares, I bet all of those sites update to him in first round. They are just assuming he is staying. Cody Zeller isn't listed on any of those either (except 1 has him 8th). If he comes out, he is a top 10 pick. A lot of those sites base on of they expect a kid to declare or not. If they are doing it any other way, and don't have Zeller in the first round......well forgive me for not taking them seriously.

I really don't understand why people think he should return. He doesn't have a high ceiling and won't improve his draft stock. The only reason to come back is if he loves college, not to better prepare himself for the NBA.

Exactly. If Sullinger returns, it's not going to be so he improves his stock. However, he may very well return just because he does want to achieve more on this level.

Sullinger seems like a guy who has a little more emotional attachment to OSU. I'd still be surprised if he stayed.

I think that Sully and Thomas both go. I hope that Sully stays and Thomas goes. Like I said on another thread, I think Thomas is bad for the locker room. I don't think his stock is ever going to be higher after the tourney he just had. I think Sullinger should come back and run the 4. He isn't big enough to run a 5 in the NBA. Come back for another year, work on your outside game and have a pretty good group around you. Put Amir in the 5 spot, Ross as the 3, Craft as the 2, and Scott as the 1 (that pains me to say that, but I think Matta is setting that up if you looked at the sub rotation this year).

Btw bleacher report had Thomas projected as a second rounder in last years draft but Draft express has him projected at the 28th best player in the 2013 draft It also has zellar 4th and hs player as 1 and 2. http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-mock-draft/2013/

If Thomas and Sullinger stay, OSU will be the easy favorites to win a title next year.

If they leave, we'll still make the tournament.

I think they both stay. Book it!

I'm surprised LJ has given us any inside information from his source. Didn't LJ coach Ohio State at some point in his life and golfs with Thad Matta every other week?

Last night on Wall to Wall sports Satch Sullinger made a very telling statement. He isaid his first question for Jared would be, " What to you have to prove?". He's gone.

I think he's gone too. I sure as hell would be.

So now what will the starting 5 look like? There will be several options.

Williams, Thomas, Ross, Smith Jr., Craft?

Or Craft at the 2 and Scott running the point?

I know the sullinger family pretty well and if Satch thinks he should go Jared will go. I have no inside information other then Jared will do exactly what his dad tells him. The only thing that could persuade him is if his brothers can convince his dad that OSU is where he should be.

Unless ross improves his effort in practice Sam Thompson will be starting. Btw smith jr is becoming the new David lighty. Thad will probably start rav but Williams will get the majority of the minutes

I don't think he'll stay but people saying he should go because he won't improve his draft stock crack me up.....He won't decrease his stock by returning either. Teams know what they're getting from him and he's gonna go around the same pick regardless of when he comes out much like Hansbrough.

Actually, Sullinger still has a lot to prove, but I think he is gone anyway.

That he can lead a team to the NCAA Championship. Also that would have nothing to do with his value at the Pro level but he does have some things to prove. I don't think everyone is sold on him at the NBA level.

I think he'll be chosen 10-20 regardless if he goes or stays. It would be awesome if he stuck around for another year.

Sullinger has said many times that his goal is to leave Ohio State with a championship. He's going to stay, Thomas is also a virtual lock to stay as well because he isn't NBA ready yet either.
