I realize there are enormous gaps in your education, but I take it you are unaware of the legal system of dejure segregation that was established in the late 19th century and continued into the 1960s and 70s. Or the defacto segregation that lingered long after that.

Then tell me why there is a Black Caucus in congress...many Black academic clubs at opublic colleges all over the United States, etc etc etc. If I tried to start a 'White Accounting Club' while I was in school, the first ophone call I would have received would have been from the ACLU, followed by Jesse Jackson.

Please tell me how the acceptance of this in our society today is not racist?
There is a lot of fallacy around this. Yes, there are a number of scholarships available to black students. But that doesn't mean that there aren't the same type of opportunities for white students. A simple Google search reveals quite a few scholarships for students of Irish descent, or students of Polish descent, or students of Norwegian descent...I'm not sure how many black students would qualify for any of those scholarships.

I hate when people say, "why is it OK to have scholarships that are only available to black students and not to white students" because, to be blunt, it's a stupid argument. There are plenty of scholarships available to white students. Just like there are plenty of scholarships available to only female students, and scholarships available to only left-handed students.

Just because the scholarship doesn't say "This is for white's only...Coloreds need not apply" doesn't mean there aren't scholarships out there that only white male students would qualify for.

1) Going to a Catholic school does not automatically make you a Catholic

2) Even the Catholic church doesn't believe in the literal story of creation.

Nice try though. You almost were clever/funny. You just didn't know what the hell you were talking about.

Yes, there are scholarships available for white students to apply for....but you missed my point.

There are scholarships that only black students can apply for...white students do not qualify for them based on their race.

There are not scholarships that only white students can apply for and black students are not considered for.

This is racist no matter how you paint it.

What's amusing is you expect a bunch of people on a message board to provide a concise, practical and effective way to end a complex social problem that will probably never be completely eliminated, as the only way to do so is along the same lines of getting complete peace among humanity. Because there is a human element, nothing will ever be perfect. Demanding that someone here give you one is a waste of your time as you surely know.

Just trying to prove a point C4F. People never want to take responsibility for their actions, its always someone else's fault, and a lot of minorities use the race card as their excuse. It's intellectual fraud.

But they still believe that whatever it is it is still actively guided by God, you know that "fake man in the sky guy" you describe.

The Catholic Position
What is the Catholic position concerning belief or unbelief in evolution? The question may never be finally settled, but there are definite parameters to what is acceptable Catholic belief.
Concerning cosmological evolution, the Church has infallibly defined that the universe was specially created out of nothing. Vatican I solemnly defined that everyone must "confess the world and all things which are contained in it, both spiritual and material, as regards their whole substance, have been produced by God from nothing" (Canons on God the Creator of All Things, canon 5).
The Church does not have an official position on whether the stars, nebulae, and planets we see today were created at that time or whether they developed over time (for example, in the aftermath of the Big Bang that modern cosmologists discuss). However, the Church would maintain that, if the stars and planets did develop over time, this still ultimately must be attributed to God and his plan, for Scripture records: "By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and all their host [stars, nebulae, planets] by the breath of his mouth" (Ps. 33:6).
Concerning biological evolution, the Church does not have an official position on whether various life forms developed over the course of time. However, it says that, if they did develop, then they did so under the impetus and guidance of God, and their ultimate creation must be ascribed to him.
Concerning human evolution, the Church has a more definite teaching. It allows for the possibility that man’s body developed from previous biological forms, under God’s guidance, but it insists on the special creation of his soul. Pope Pius XII declared that "the teaching authority of the Church does not forbid that, in conformity with the present state of human sciences and sacred theology, research and discussions . . . take place with regard to the doctrine of evolution, in as far as it inquires into the origin of the human body as coming from pre-existent and living matter—[but] the Catholic faith obliges us to hold that souls are immediately created by God" (Pius XII, Humani Generis 36). So whether the human body was specially created or developed, we are required to hold as a matter of Catholic faith that the human soul is specially created; it did not evolve, and it is not inherited from our parents, as our bodies are.
While the Church permits belief in either special creation or developmental creation on certain questions, it in no circumstances permits belief in atheistic evolution.

as i understand many of these scholarships in the original statement many are in place not just for the benefit of the student recieving the scholarship but for the benefit of the rest of the students at the college so that their education can be enriched by the experience of attending classes with people from different backgrounds and being exposed to a broader base of ideas. many of these colleges have less than 2-5% minority enrollment. i could be wrong but i have had it explained to me that way before.

Did you even read my post? True, a black student can probably apply for any of the scholarships I listed (Irish heritage scholarships, Polish scholarships, etc). But they would not be considered for the scholarship if they do not meet the criteria (i.e. can prove they are from that racial background).

It's the exact same situation because a white student can absolutely apply for one of the minority scholarships. But they would not be considered for the scholarship because they do not meet the criteria.

When I was graduating high school, I applied for a scholarship with the Ancient Order of Hibernians. They award a scholarship every year to the son, grandson, daughter, or granddaughter of one of their members. So could that be open to a black student? Technically. But I don't know how many black people would qualify. To be a member of the AOH you have to be a practicing Roman Catholic of Irish birth or descent.

So I believe that you missed my point (even though you tried to cover it up well with bolded AND underlined AND italicized words). So I'll try to give the message to you in a way you won't miss this time...

There ARE scholarships that ONLY white students can apply for and black students are not considered for.
