It's really close. You have to wonder if the B1G title game will "really matter" this year considering 3 of the top 8 seed lines pretty much hinge on the outcome.

If it "doesn't matter", you have to figure Missouri is the fourth #1.

The Big Ten Champion deserves a spot because the winner would have the best wins of any team in the country. The gauntlet they had to run all year was brutal, and to come out with 9 top 25 wins (MSU) or 7 top 25 wins (Ohio State) would put them above any of the contenders for that spot.

I do think Missouri or Kansas deserve a #1 too. It is North Carolina that I don't think belongs up there, but they are going to get one regardless.

Mizzou SOS is poor. Their pre conference schedule was a joke. Their SOS doesn't compare to OSU, MSU or KU.

I agree. I think MIZZOU has clinched the #5 spot. While KU has clinched the #6. OSU/MSU playing for #4 and #7 respectively.

North Carolina does not have the resume of a 1 seed. They should be Syracuse, Kentucky, Big Ten champion, and Missouri (or you could argue for Kansas).

I think you probably see Missouri move up to the 4th #1 with the B1G winner getting the 3rd. UNC falls to a #2.

After the KU's loss in the semis of the Big XII Tournament to Baylor (not a bad loss by any means, but the Bears did go on to get pummeled in the championship by Mizzou), I really don't know why the Jayhawks are still a No. 1 consideration if Duke clearly isn't. And Duke definitely is not.

So, KU has the edge in RPI Top 25 wins and won the Big XII regular-season.

Duke has the edge in RPI, SOS, has garnered the more impressive "best wins" with victories over three teams being considered as No. 1 seeds as of today (Michigan State, UNC and Kansas) and, as already stated, the Blue Devils already beat the Jayhawks this season.

Neither Duke nor Kansas deserve a No. 1 seed. I'd go with Syracuse, Kentucky, Missouri and Michigan State.

Carolina has the 5th toughest strength of schedule and their losses are ALL to Top 25 teams. They don't have any bad losses like Mizzou, Michigan State, Ohio State, etc. The ACC is definitely weak, but Carolina did win the regular season title outright. I also don't think they should be penalized for not winning the ACCT without Henson, especially when they lost a closely contested game in the championship. I'm sure there are arguments against Carolina getting a one seed, but when looking at the entire body of work, I don't think they're any worse than the other teams in contention. They have less losses than MSU, OSU, KU, and Mizzou has two losses to K-State and one to Oklahoma State.

I don't disagree with that.

I just meant that they didn't lose to any "bad" teams. All their losses were to teams in the Top 25, whereas some of the other contenders for one seeds had losses to teams outside the Top 50. In the eyes of the committee, a loss to a Top 25 team is a "good" loss. I'm sure they realized that the 33-point beatdown was an anomaly, and the close loss without Henson in the ACCT was more representative of a UNC/FSU matchup.
