Of course, if winning in college is what is propelling his decision, then I commend that.
McAdoo played like 15 MPG last year. From a potential standpoint, yes, he was considered a lottery pick, but he wasn't ready for the NBA. His performance this year while playing more minutes has shown that he wasn't ready. Right now, he has a bulging disc in his back that is probably going to require surgery. He wouldn't be able to be 100% for any pre-draft workouts, and his health is a slight concern to GMs right now, not to mention the fact that he's projected late in the 1st round anyway.
Had he left last year, he would get the money for being a lottery pick, but it's highly doubtful that he would have been successful enough to have staying power in the NBA. Roy informed him last year that he was a lottery pick, but his father and the rest of his family didn't think he was ready to leave. Coming back for next season shouldn't hurt him at all. He'll still be a first round pick, and if he begins to show that he is realizing his potential, he'll go in the lottery.
