How is 1/40 routine?

Yeah, read that wrong. Second time you clearly said 1/10th of the time of the 1/4th. I read it as 1/4th he gets close and 1/10th he makes it.

If you had read my previous posts, you'd know my post was sarcastically written to ironman who thinks tiger gets that chip within 3 inches 25% of the time. They don't get 10 foot chips straight up hill on perfect lies within 3 inches 25% of the time.

1/4 times within 3 inches it MORE THAN routine chips. That's where your post is ridiculous. That ball had a better chance of going in the water than the hole, yet you say he gets it ridiculously close 25% of the time .. smh@ that logic.

The line (shot could be way too hard or short).

My God it was an insanely hard shot but these guys not far off the green roll the ball by the hole (3 inches either side) at will......that shot, yeah much more difficult but we've seen Tiger navigate those insane shots multiple times before. Every time there is an awful lie the golf analyst and sideline guys say "just a brutal lie, not much chance of getting this anywhere near the hole....and almost every time the pros throw it right up there to tap in range.

1/40....hell I don't know, but give Tiger another 40 balls from that spot and we bet $20 (or whatever amount you be a little ticked about losing) and you may win the pot but I imagine you'd be sweating on 10 or more of those shots.....on the flipside if you are given 1,000 balls to make that shot you wouldn't feel confident that you would get scores of them pretty close with a few or more going in? Within 5 shots you'd know where you'd need to land it.

3 inches is absurdly close. Getting a chip within 3 inches is pretty much chipping in (in terms of the quality of the chip) without the benefit of saving a stroke.

Jesus people.....picture the ball rolling by the hole (3 inches either side) and going by 3-30 feet.....I never said it stops for a 3 inch putt.....just that the line is very close.

Well wtf is the point if it is on line within 3 inches but goes 30 feet past?

The tough part about Tiger's shot wasn't the line, but the speed. If he leaves it short he has a treacherous putt left and if it goes long he could have rolled in water and at the very least had a hard putt coming back.

I've already posted what that was a part of. 1/4 time he has the line very close and 1/10 of the time he gets the speed close enough to fall in....if it's on line.

Great shot....I wish all of us on here could have 5-10 whacks at it to fully appreciate....and of course for bragging rights.

Good day all.

Fat Phil texted the commish FROM THE FAIRWAY about the cell phone usage in the galleries. Pot meet Kettle much?!?!? Cell phones in the crowd didn't make you shoot a 79 and quit. You being a ginormous vagina did.

Worst part is, there is NO WAY cell phone cameras are louder than the media snapping pictures.

Most cell phone cameras don't make a noise. And it's certainly not loud. There are planes flying over, helicopters, noise from other holes. It's ridiculous how much they complain.

Yelling in someone's backswing I can understand. These little noises are ridiculous.

a guy in our league bet 3 people $100 and bet the owner of the course free golf for the rest of the year he could shoot 32 tonight on 9 after league was over (around 8:45). He played 9 holes in about 25 minutes and shot 32 getting up and down from behind 9 green. Saved par on a par 5 after flying the green out of bounds. Very easily could have shot 30.

This..

And from the tips? If he's playing forward tees and driving and pitching, it's not as impressive. Nice score though.

Tiger, Bubba and Lefty are paired together for the Open. Should be entertaining.
