I'll be honest at first I was thinking it was just a fluke but now I'm thinking he is pretty good. It will be interesting to see how long he can sustain this play.

I think he's legit. I don't think he's a 25/10 guy, obviously, but I think he's got staying power. He's quick and can get to the rack.

I think he could be a guy who gets you 12-15 points a night while dishing 6-8 assists.

Now, it's hard to gauge a player after 4 games, and Melo and Mike may ruin him, so we'll see.

There's going to be a lot more jeans and a lot less athleticism in rec centers everywhere soon. The Yao Ming factor all over again.

Lin=Tebow?

As a former NYK fan from the Ewing, John Wallace, LJ, Houston, Sprewell, Chris Childs, C Ward days could this dude actually make me care about the NBA and even the Knicks again. I found myself cheering as I flipped through and caught the end of the game tonight.

"Former" Knicks fan? Why did you stop being a Knicks fan? I've been a Knicks fan since the Charles Smith, Charles Oakley, Patrick Ewing, Anthony Mason, John Starks days and not even the Starbury, Scott Layden, Isaiah Thomas era could change that (even though it was insanely frustrating watching the franchise go to absolute shit). Those were some ROUGH years. Oh, props for mentioning my boy John Wallace in there. Those Knicks-Heat brawls/games were pretty legendary.

Allan Houston's game-winner vs. the Heat in the 1st round of the playoffs during that strike-shortened season (2nd time an 8 seed beat a 1 seed, I believe) and LJ's 4-point play are a couple of my favorite Knicks moments from back in the day.

Because he's not as athletic as NBA teams were looking for. But this is definitely a case of hard work trumping athleticism. I haven't seen a player work as hard as he does on every play in a while.

This dude is something we don't have enough of in the NBA anymore--- a basketball player. There's a major difference between being a basketball player vs. being an athlete.

The sad thing is...Lin was an awesome college player. Those who followed the college game intently knew about him. The problem with him was his Junior and Senior years, Cornell had two of the best Ivy League teams of all-time and they got the best of Lin's teams. Otherwise, Linsanity would have started in the NCAA Tournament...

That's what makes the story big.

He was in Golden State, one of the most irrelevant and "black hole" places for an NBA career.

Nobody thought he was worthy of a roster spot.

He goes to NYC, gets a shot and is doing this on a train wreck team, without their 2 superstars and with a 8-15 record when it started...

Really it's a perfect storm for him right now with Melo and Amare out.
