To me, it's no different than someone saying, "I was talking to so-and-so and they said..."
I would probably use the generic "I was talking to" and not source it specifically to Facebook or another medium, although I'm not sure why doing so would bother someone.

I've had to tell my girlfriend that if she's telling me a story she read on Facebook I dont care.

I remember being on Facebook when it first came out (I was in college, back when you had to have an .edu e-mail). I deleted it once it got huge and they let anyone on. I don't want to FB friend my parents and my friends' parents.

Facebook is great for me! Living 6,000 miles away and having a 5 week old daughter. I can share pictures and videos of her for my family to see.
I don't like all the apps that people use, like FarmVille or whatever. But it's easy to turn that stuff off so you don't see it.

Why are people so addicted to such a thing that they cannot be away from it for more than a few min at a time? People are living in this fantasy world of FB and why? I guess I just dont understand why people are addicted to such a thing. Some people think if they are away from it for an hour the world will end.
It's a sign of the generation. Do you also get upset when people start off conversations, "So did you see last night's episode of The Office?!" or "Did you catch the Super Bowl?!" Facebook is a game-changer and it's prevalent throughout society. If you can't accept it, then you're in the minority.

No, that doesnt bother me per say, but if much of the stuff that comes out of their mouth is "did you see last nights...." and then everything revolves around it then yeah, that would.

We all know the people....it is like those who are addicted to texting. They are constantly peering into their phone with a text or FB and have awful interpersonal communication skills. Few nights ago my stepdaughter had a few friends over. They were in the other room and I noticed for a pretty long time there was no sound coming from there.....i thought they had left already. I go on out and all 4 were sitting around, not talking, but instead were on FB and texting. It was pretty disgusting when ya have a group of people sitting around, and instead of talking and interacting they have their faces and minds planted into FB and texting. There was a movie on and I asked what it was about....and none of them could tell me as they were too engrossed in their FB and texts.

Not sure I follow. So saying Cedar Point > Bumper cars wouldn't work for you either than? Both useful, but aren't intended for the same purpose (similar, but not the same).

Other than being herded into a category, "social media", there's nearly no similarity between Twitter and Facebook.

Indeed. Since a lot of those complaints can easily be boiled down to, "I didn't have this when I was a kid and don't see the big deal about it...SO IT'S STUPID!!!!"
