100 points might be a stretch, but I could definitely see 80-90 over the next 6-7 years playing on a legit team (career high to this point is 79). Probably his best year ever he could get above 90.

which is ALMOST 100.... but yeah if he had proper players around him i think he'd be a motivated beast.

i'd be fine with the deal. not sure if there is any rumor or talk of nash moving, but i'd definitely be down for a deal that got him to boston.

The crazy thing is attendance it up like 18 percent this year. Mason has been the worst goalie stats wise for the last three years and yet we continue to play him consistently. For the cbj to win they need a good young goalie and players that want to be here with an experienced coach. Right now their 0 for 3. Oops forgot about a gm with half a brain so were 0 for 4.

The sad thing is management thinks this is the right roster killed by injuries so your going to get this product again next year and they will use the all stat game to sell season tickets and keep attendance respectful.

I'm not familiar with the NHL, but if CBJ finish with the worst record do they get the #1 pick? I feel like the CBJ have been terrible for so long that they should have been stockpiling young talent from top 5 draft picks.

Attendance is higher because they didn't raise prices (how could they) and have given away far more tickets this year than I can remember.

I work for the company the Arena is named after. Although we've been season ticket holders since day one, a few times already this year they have given away upwards of 5,000 tickets a game to employees who present just a company email. Each person can get 4 tickets, including usually 1,000-2,000 lower bowl tickets.

Attendance figures might be up, but some of these games, in-terms of actual people there, have been franchise-lows.

There is a lottery in the NHL. The Jackets never do well in it.

Rumor going around that the Red Wings are interested in Bringing in Nash along with the Maple Leafs. Also, is Rask a RFA? I would expect Marchand or someone like that would be coming back as well.

2011: No pick - traded to Philadelphia for Jeff Carter.
2010: Ryan Johansen (4th overall) - good potential, first year with the "big club" this year, but just 17 points in 43 games.
2009: John Moore (21st overall) - 5 points, -8 rating in 40 games this year.
2008: Nikita Filatov (6th overall) - traded to Ottawa. 14 points in 53 games over a three-year career.
2007: Jakub Voracek (7th overall) - traded to Philadelphia in Jeff Carter deal.
2006: Derick Brassard (6th overall) - career-high 47 points last season, just 17 in 43 games this season.
2005: Gilbert Brule (6th overall) - in Phoenix now, played two full seasons w/ the Jackets registering just 32 points in 146 games.

Not always true. The 14 teams who don't make the playoffs all have a possibility at the #1 pick. The worse you are the higher chance you have to pick first. New Jersey last year was the 8th worst team in the league and ended up picking 4th. Chicago in the 06-07 season was the 5th worst team but ended up getting the #1 pick.
Only teams 26 through 30 can get the first pick. Winning the lottery doesn't mean you get the first pick, it just means you improve your draft position by up to four positions (hence NJ bumping from 8th to 4th, Chicago from 5th to 1st).
At the conclusion of the regular season, the 14 NHL teams not qualifying for the playoffs are entered in a weighted lottery to determine the initial draft picks in the first round, seeded according to regular season standing. The 30th-place team has a 25% chance of winning the lottery, with odds diminishing to a 0.5% chance for the 17th-place team. A single selection from the lottery pool is made, with the winning team improving its draft position by up to four places, and no team dropping more than one place. Therefore, only the 26th through 30th place teams are eligible to receive the first overall draft pick

The Blue Jackets, despite having finished out of the playoffs in all but one year of their existence, have never won the draft lottery. Six out of 15 years the worst team has retained the #1 pick, six out of 15 years a team in the bottom five (but not the worst team) has grabbed the #1 pick. The other three years (1995, 1999, 2011) teams outside the bottom five have won and moved up four spots.

And Nash needs to leave that place. Columbus is so inept it's unreal. Really they're gonna regret not drafting Sean Couturier IMO

Brule has incredible skill he just never really developed. At the end of the day it's not 1st round draft picks, it's what you get deeper in the draft that build teams.

Just look at Detroit: Datsyuk(6th) Franzen(3rd) Flippula(3rd) Zetterberg(7th) Hudler (2nd) Lidstrom(3rd) Howard (2nd)

Right there on currently the best team in the NHL and out of they're top 6 scorers and all-star goalie NONE we're drafted in the 1st round. Or you could be like Edmonton who has hit a homerun the last few years with their 1st round picks and will basically unstoppable in 5 years. Eberle, Hall, Nugent-Hopkins and Gagner are just beast

Right, you can build in developing late-rounders (Detroit) or you can build with first rounders (Pittsburgh, Edmonton). The Jackets have done neither.

It wasn't a clock malfunction. Clocks don't do that, contrary to what Dean Lombardi would have you believe. I'm pretty sure the timekeeper screwed up.

And it's not about what this mistake means to the CBJ. It means nothing to the CBJ about losing a point or two. They are last and this wouldn't have changed that. It does however, mean something to the Kings and the rest of the Western Conference. Last year, the 4th-8th seeds were separated by 2 points. LA, getting a free point could mean the difference between someone getting screwed out of the playoffs or someone getting screwed out of home ice advantage. If LA makes it into the playoffs by one point, I would be pissed if I was a fan of the 9th place team. But I'm sure you already knew all that.

Yea, I've paid a total of $50 for the 6 games I've attended, and our seats are always lower bowl.
