Was at the race track for three days not paying attention to anything outside in the real world. Come home and find they swept the Royals -- GOOD! Wake up to see Cincy blew a four-run lead with their bullpen to put them in a tie for first -- GREAT!

This will be a tough week playing at Baltimore and Cleveland.

Offense doesn't have enough depth for an AL style lineup. I'd be happy with 3-3 out of this 6.
As long as the 3 are against Cleveland...lol.

Pirates fall to the Orioles 8-6. And of course I had Neil Walker on my fantasy baseball bench and he hit a HR and had 3 RBI's. Adds insult to injury. Damn.

Pirates got whooped by the O's again. Reds win. Buccos go from being tied for 1st to two games back of Cincy just like that.

Having Lincoln (good as reliever; sucky as starter) and Correia (fail) going back-to-back isn't helping the team. When you don't have a good offense, giving up 15 runs in two games means you have no chance of winning.

Being forced to listen to excessive whining? Or just yelled at about how things were in 1940 in football?

Ought to be an interesting series. Yahoo added run differential to their standings. Both Pitt and Cleve are 32-30 and both have -31 run differentials. The only other team with a winning record and negative run differential is Miami, who is 32-31 and -34.

And that's how you can tell it's baseball season....Cleveland beats Pittsburgh.

McDonald pitched well. Masterson was better though.

Missed the game because of my daughter's 2nd birthday party. Saw the final though. Way to rebound after 4 straight L's.

Yesterday was more like it. Too bad Burnett can't pitch every day. Rubber game today, but not much hope with Lincoln out there starting.

Thank you Cleveland for waking up Alvarez. Hopefully this is the start of something big for him.

Bucs beat the Twinkies 7-2 for third win in a row. Pedro continues to hit and ANYTIME you get a win with Correia on the mound it's a bonus. Getting help from the Indians too who beat the Reds for the second night in a row.

Third win in a row and they're only 2.5 back. Also helps that Detroit beat St. Louis, to put a little bit of distance between them and third place. 25 runs over the last three games is very nice. If they can show some offensive competence on at least a semi-regular basis, they'll be able to stay in the playoff race all year.

2-1 loss tonight to Minny. Bedard only gave up 1 run in 6 innings. Dammit.

Yeah. Golden opportunity lost, as the Reds dropped another. Could be 1.5 back, but they're still 2.5...and St. Louis made up a game on them.

Good to see Bedard bounce back with a good start, though, after he got shelled his last time up. With his durability issues, anytime he gets blasted, I get scared, because the team really doesn't have the starting pitcher depth to lose people for long periods of time.

Pirates take another series beating Minnesota 9-1. McDonald throws the first complete game of the year and the Bucs hit 3 home runs, including Alvarez's shot out of the park and nearly into the river.

Got the Tigers in a big series this weekend. Heard that all the games are nearly sold out.

Reds lose. Bucs a game out. Winning one of the next two would be a bonus, but I'm not real confident. Lincoln pitches Saturday for the Pirates Saturday and Verlander for the Tigers on Sunday. We all know what he almost did to the Bucs a few weeks back.
